Landscape orientation on Android

I use my iphone in my car for navigation and music. I prefer for my phone to be mounted in landscape orientation for navigation purposes, but the spotify app is hard to use when it is sideways.  constantly changing the orientation is inconvenient.  Could spotify implement a landscape orientation? even if it lacks some of the less important features.

I use an Transformer Prime and the app is simply unusable if the Pad is in the keyboard dock (which I use most of the time). It is so easy to implement landscape mode and I think I ll no longer pay for mobile use if this isn t getting implemented soon.

Hello folks, first at all, truly sorry for the delay on updating this thread...sometimes it takes time to check all the ideas since we have a lot coming in everyday.

We really love this, since it would be an awesome option. For now we are trying and focus on other features which need to be tweaked first. Once this is done, we will focus on improving the product implementing features as great as the one you are requesting here. We will update you all when we get back to this matter.

Hello folks, I will add a bit of info since it is true I didnt say much in my last update. 

The top priority now is to make the Android app better, faster and more stable. That does not always mean adding more features before fixing crashes and bugs as well as tweaking existing things (this will obviously benefit users more than having this mode).
 
We still have crashes, dialogs that disappear and a look and feel which isn't optimised due to the current implementation. We prefer to fix that before releasing it to the wider public.

The Android team has landscape mode on the roadmap and they will address that as soon as it is possible.

I understand that from a Development stand-point, crashes and dialogs are far more important than "optional" features, such as landscape mode.

However, I want to point out that there are TONS of other apps (including media apps) that had this as one of the basic features released from the very beginning and are developed/maintained by ONE person. Surely you're Android TEAM can spare one guy to focus on this? Sorry, I don't mean to  be pushy, but this is a glaring detail that really screams "FIX ME! I'M NOT PERFECT!"

Other than this, I have to say that you're dev team has made a terrific app!

It's October 6th now, 18:35 EST.

It's obvious all mobile users want this landscape feature now! I would like it now.

Most mobile users mount their devices in landscape mode in the car. This should be top prioroity at this point.

Since this now works rather nicely on iPad, perhaps I'll work out a way to dashboard-mount my iPad instead of my iPhone.

Wait. That would be insane.

Therefore, I guess I'll put myself in the "Yes, please!" camp.

Many Android tablets are deigned to be used in Landscape mode - such as my Asus transformer. A Spotify app that only works in portrait mode is as stupid as a Windows Spotify application that only works when you rotate your head 90 degrees to read the screen. It seems breathtaking.. never mind.. happily music isn't a life or death matter. I'll uninstall it.
