Smart shuffle is a fun way to discover new songs, but it comes at a cost. Want to reshuffle your queue? Bam, wait a few seconds longer. Want to unshuffle your playlist? Bam, no longer works, and goes to a completely random place in the playlist.

To me this is an unwanted complication, and I'd much rather be able to choose in the settings menu whether I want to enable the Smart Shuffle feature, or disable it.

Spotify is annoying as f with smart shuffle. I've barely found a song or two that I liked from the forced feature. It agitates me when I have a que of my own music, want to shuffle after, then lose the song I had currently playing because smart shuffle comes before normal shuffle. Disable this garbage before you keep losing subscribers, a holes!

Agreed. The smart shuffle function incorporated into the normal shuffle/no shuffle button is annoying as **bleep** because I can't go from normal shuffle to no shuffle without first having to wait for smart shuffle to load (which I don't want) before getting to turn it off again. An option where smart shuffle can be turned off completely so I don't have to go through this every time I want to switch listening modes would be so much better.

I don’t why the shuffle button has deteriorated to such an abysmal state, but here we are. Smart shuffle should be a toggle to disable in settings. I can find my own music. I don’t want to wait for you to load “smart” suggestions. So make it a toggle or get rid of it. 

The original shuffle button was best. It was easily visible, bold and beautiful. You pressed the shuffle button that literally said shuffle, and it started a new shuffle. Now it’s a 3 way button that you have to press multiple times. When you press shuffle it should begin a new shuffle and that is it. Every time you press it. Toggle shuffle on/off via the now playing screen.

Smart shuffle is extremely buggy and frustrating for me. It never cycles through properly, even when I have a good connection. I often have to minimize the play window several times to get each shuffle mode in the cycle. Sometimes it doesn't work and I have to reload my app completely to get the next mode to activate. Smart shuffle always takes at least 5-10 seconds to load. When there is no connection it makes shuffle features even more unusable than they normally are since this feature was added. I loved the enhance feature, but smart shuffle is terrible. I want to be able to use shuffle features normally. Please bring back enhance or add an option to disable smart shuffle. I pay for my service and I can't even use my offline music properly or use shuffle features. We don't want to have recommendations forced upon us. I liked Enhance because it was easy to CHOOSE when to do music discovery. please listen to customers and fix this issue.

Bad UI decision to have Smart Shuffle as a permanent selection. It makes it difficult to shuffle music and manipulates the queuing features as well.

I've been using Spotify daily for years and years, and this Smart Shuffle feature is by far the most annoying. In no world would I ever want my playlist to auto-fill random songs when I'm simply just trying to disable Shuffle. Also really love the 5+ seconds that it takes for the Shuffle button to load again so I can disable Smart Shuffle... Make it a separate location to toggle your new feature, please for the love of God.

This is seriously bad. Especially at the gym, the loading time it takes to shuffle with the smart shuffle setting takes too much time. Terrible quality of life feature it actually makes me very frustrated. At least give us the option to either disable or enable it, not everyone wants it and I understand that some do enjoy it. I am not one of them.

I came to suggest the icons for regular shuffle and smart shuffle are different enough that I know which one I just turned on. I don't want smart shuffle at all and I'm over here like "is it on or off!?!?" So glad everyone else hates it too.

1. What a terrible feature. My list is LONG. Enhanced suggestions sucks and when I use the shuffle button now it takes 15 seconds to allow me to turn off shuffle.
