Add "remove video content" option to Spotify Family

Please add an option to "remove video content" to Spotify Family! Since video podcasts were added, my children now watch videos on Spotify instead of listening to music.  I had given them unlimited access to Spotify (unlike other apps) because it was only used for music.

All you'd have to do is add another toggle for "remove video content" next to "Remove explicit content".

Spotify Kids is not an option for us.  My children are teens and tweens.  And because they're teens and tweens, they have a very difficult time turning off compelling video content (just like some adults).  If Spotify becomes just another screen to stare at, I'm not sure we want to keep our Family membership.

I have reported this to the Online Safety Commissioner in the Media regulator office. Commission na Mean. This is in Ireland. Maybe others could find similar government bodies in their countries.

Thanks for doing that. I am looking to do the same in England.

If Spotify implemented the idea to Toggle off the Videos on Podcasts, then it must be a fairly simple process to Toggle Off the videos on Music.

i understand Spotify now has explicit ASMR videos rated PG so another reason why this change needs to be implemented really quickly,

I sent an e-mail to the Swedish Agency for the media, and was given this answer:

Regarding your question about whether it is possible to report Spotify for this, we have assessed that this could be an issue that we can look into within the framework of the DSA Regulation (Regulation on the Internal Market for Digital Services). In light of this, we have posted your email as a complaint regarding the protection of minors.

We will also inform the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency, which is Sweden's coordinator for the DSA Regulation, about your complaint.

Now, Daniel Ek and Spotify donated money to Trump so in the larger sense this could be seen in an "anti-woke tech-bros" perspective. These guys hate regulations.

That’s excellent news. Thanks for doing it. It seems the only strategy is to shame the brand into changing course. Ek is blinded by profits, like most tech bros.

Hey Everyone, apparently I mean globally everyone, 😄

I just wanted to say that I appreciate each and every one of you, answering the call, even if you're tired, and jumping on this so passionately!!! This is so awesome, and I am digging into whatever channels I can, politically both in my local, and national levels, to keep drawing the uncomfortable eye to this issue. Keep the fight, keep the faith, Let's Roll!!!

I went to Spotify support to see how they desceibed Family Premium. Lo and behold, i happened on this page describing a ”Managed account” för kids up to 13 years. I think with an added feature for disabling ”Canvas and videos”. Same app so not to be confused with the Spotify Kids app.

One can switch from a standard to this. Did anyone know about this account type and tried it?

Hey everyone, I think at this point you can tell that they will not do anything about this because it will eat into their profits as a company.  The only way you can be heard is to cancel your subscription in my opinion.  I know its hard because you like the app, but in keeping your membership you're basically telling them... "I don't like this, but I'll put up with it so keep taking my money."  So you just need to make a choice, is the app really worth it for your kids to consume garbage sexually explicit content or not?  If so, continue with your membership.  If not, cancel and switch to the many other options out there.
