[All Platforms] Block / disallow suggestions for certain content

The last 8 times I've opened Spotify I've been greeted by a big waiting Bible podcast recommendation sat there. I get the hint Spotify, but stop. It was cool the first time. It was boring the second. And it is in fact so annoying by the 8th time that I have to write this post to ask for this feature to be implemented.

I hope it's been made clear: I don't want to listen to the bible, much less on Spotify, and there is no way within the app to ask it to stop recommending me this, honestly, outrageously offensive content. I would very much appreciate this feature, thanks in advance. I'm sure the bible people would appreciate such a feature as well!

Now that there are audiobooks on top of podcasts and music, it is absolutely necessary that Spotify rethink the importance of being able to turn off or hide podcasts and audiobooks.

Allowing users to tell Spotify that they are not interested in certain suggestions would not only make the home screen experience less frustrating for users, but would also provide negative feedback to your ML engines to improve future suggestions. This seems like a no brained feature as it shouldn’t take too much effort to implement and provides value to both users and improves your ML model/algorithms.

There should be an option to select a few artists. Spotify recommendation should take that input and ensure songs from that artist are not suggested.

Yet another feature that’s clearly wanted but ignored by the devs. I had the unfortunate experience of someone accidentally listening to Rogan on my personal account and now his program is featured on the front page of both my PC and phone versions. The fact I can’t block or remove him for my own personalization purposes is ridiculous.

How is this suggestions closed? It looks like it still gets at least one comment a week! 

For me, I really want to block certain podcasts from being automatically added to Spotify-generated playlists. In my case, the Daily Drive playlist. I absolutely love this playlist, and for the most part, Spotify gets it absolutely right. I’ve found some great news and science podcasts that I continue to listen to outside of the playlist. However occasionally it adds in one that is completely off-base. At the moment it’s added “The sport bible” podcast, which is literally run by a betting company.

I would rather stab myself in the ear than listen to sports news on my morning drive. But that goes double for one designed to coerce me into gambling. There’s no risk of that for me, but consider that many Australians struggle with gambling addictions, not being able to block this content represents a substantial risk for the welfare of some groups in the community. So while I find the absence of this feature quite frustrating, please consider that this is actually essential for some listeners and should at least be prioritised on ethical grounds.

By searching for specific topics you may come across personal playlists from other people. Well I don't have a good memory. So it would be nice to have a blacklist like we have for songs. So that I can Block Playlists for me and not need to find out again and again that I already heard that specific one and didn't like it.

There are some very explicit podcasts that are straight-up **bleep**. Okay, I clicked on one because I was curious about what it was. And now it seems to forever live on my suggested front page. With no way to block these from my kids. The explicit filter doesn't work on these. Thanks, Spotify for making it not possible to block podcast shows. Now I can't let my kids use this anymore for Disney music. It's a little funny to see Frozen and Moaning Sisters found side by side on my suggestions.

I've been having a problem where I'm trying to remove certain podcasts being recommended to me. I've looked through everything on this platform but everything is either closed for not meeting the requirements or linked back to different ideas that have also been closed. but what I'm recommending is to have a button or option to either dislike or block a PODCAST not a song or creator, so I and others don't have the same podcast that we don't like constantly popping up. 🙂 have a nice day and thx

The ability to actually current your content on Spotify is astounding. I will never again listen to a podcast via Spotify so I can avoid having it make a bad home screen experience worse.
