[Android][Connect] Bring back support for removed BMW Connected Drive Integration

Spotify Integration with BMW Idrive 6 has always been sporadic and not all advertised features work. The latest Spotify versions 8.5.68.904 and 8.5.6.9.934 have bugs and the App does not appear in IDrive at all. The pervious version of Spotify was somewhat unreliable as I had to occasionally repair my phone with the car. I can no longer see the Spotify App in my BMW media list. 

I can only listen to spotify from the bmw bluetooth audio option. 

I've tried pairing an iPhone and the app appears on iDrive. For my android issue I deleted the App data and cache of both Bmw ConnectedDrive and Spotify app. I also unpaird the bluetooth connection between my smartphone car. Lastly, I uninstalled both Spotify and the BMW Apps. Nothing works.

Additionally, it would be great if my Playlist order in my car matched the order on the phone. For example, although my phone app is sorted alphabetically, my car would only show playlists in the order of what was most recently created.

Who else thinks Spotify needs to get it together and provide a quality app that integrates with iDrive?

I'm getting fed up with spotify now, i use a Samsung Note 10 and trying to get it to work on my i drive system. Almost 2 months and 700+ votes since this so called "idea" has been opened, and we still haven't received any information from Spotify on why this feature has been dropped and if we can get it back. Your policies state that 500 votes are required to signal this idea and discuss it with the product team. Which means that it must have already been discussed by now.

So can you at least give us some transparency on the matter?:

• Why did this feature get dropped in the first place?
• Why only android and not iOS? 
• Will we get it back? 
• Is the idea even considered/discussed at all?

These are simple questions that don't take long to answer. Us paying customers are entitled to answers.

Perhaps some users and Spotify will notice that Spotify does not have a
monopoly on music streaming services. I have cancelled my subscription and
now have shifted to a competitor (and the ongoing subscription to this
topic reminds me daily that I took the right decision).

I love that fixing a broken feature is called 'an idea' and has to be voted on for Spotify to consider fixing it. What a farce!?

It seems disingenuous to mark a feature deprecated and then to open a new feature request for it. Especially since its still supported in a different version of the app (iOS). 

I am a Spotify premium subscriber and have reverted to the previous deprecated release, presumably this will stop working as apis etc. change at which point I will leave for a competitor, unless of course its fixed. 

Note some competitors are offering 3 months free for new users, I'm using this to slowly migrate my playlists across.
