[Android] Landscape mode on Now Playing view

When using my phone in the car I put it in a car holder. The holder is horizontal in order to have better view for navigation etc. I use spotify also a lot in the car but when using the playing music I'm not able to rotate the screen but the playlists dose rotate

I have no idea how removing such an evergreen function (landscape orientation) in a mobile app in 2019 is EVER considered an improvement to a service. Viewing the 'now playing' screen in landscape mode is integral to those using phone holders in their car, as the landscape view provides a larger UI to interact with while on the road. 

I can't believe we have to request its re-implementation - landscape was in the app since 2012!!

I have the same problem. As a workaround I'm currently using an app called Rotation control (PlayStore Link). It allows you to force landscape roation. You're not gonna see the album cover but atleast you got the controls. Screenshot

OK guys, today we got the answer : Spotify presented their new gadget, the Car Thing, a hardware product designed to use Spotify in a car! So in fact they did want to break the landscape function so they can sell their fukin hardware for stupid customers. Hmmm... Ok bye Spotify, as said by another user, I tried Amazon music and guess what? It has a Perfect landscape mode.

It makes all sense to me, unfortunately I'm considering cancelling my subscription and going to other app. Very bad decision they made removing such a vital feature.

Last Spotify update with horizontal view 8.4.97.807. I've installed that version and it works fine.

Simple solution, I installed Spotify Lite Beta, which oddly enough still has the feature. Works just fine.

Please solve this landscape issue. Sooner or later someone will have a car accident because of this.
