[Android] Remove the Shuffle / Play Button

Hi, I tried out your new design, which I have mixed feelings about, but nevermind that. The most annoying thing I come over in the new Spotify (for iPhone by the way) is the dumb, big, overlapping, unnecessary shuffle play button that pops up everywhere. Is this a bug or is this on purpose? Could at least had add an option for it. Also, it doesn't look streamlined at all with the current design. Did it even occur that not everyone wants a shuffle play button?

Updated on 2020-11-04

Hey folks,
As some of you will have noticed, this has changed on iOS.
We've updated the idea, so that we can update everyone more accurately with regards to Android.
We're marking this as a 'Good idea', too.
Please know that your feedback is reaching the right teams here.

We'll post an update if anything changes!
Thanks

Dear Spotify Staff,

I was amazed to see that this thread is over 8 months old! And the darn annoying green shuffle button is still there?!! Do you not care at all what your user think?? Just make a quick web search on "spotify green shuffle button" and see for youself how much we all hate it! Options for shuffle play, repeat etc is good, and we always knew how to use them. This (not so) new button is ugly and unnecessary and superirritating. What do you mean "not right now"? Are you waiting for us to get used to it, and like it, and see it's greatness? We won't.

The thing that really irks me is that it's extremly bad UI design to turn on a feature in one place in the UI and then turn it off somewhere else severel levels across the UI, you just don't do that !

Simply turn it into a play button and just have the shuffle option where it is today we all learn where it is.

You can still have free users on shuffle all the time, indicated by the green color in the shuffle option and that they cant change it's state .

Win Win I've solved you design problem .

The main problem with the GREEN BLOB is that it is large, ugly, and just dominates my screen were space is already precious (and wont go away when I scroll). Just loose it already!

This is really very simple. It is obvious that there are a large number of dedicated Spotify users who want this button removed from their screen, or want the option to remove it. It is also obvious that this can be done without hurting the interests of people who want to use the shuffle function. Why are Spotify continuing to ignore this request? One is driven to the conclusion that the people who now run Spotify are incapable of understanding that many of their users are lovers of music who want to organise their own listening, or want to listen in the order it was written in the case of classical music and that many of these people do not want their screens cluttered with a very large button more suited to a child's play space.

Please just change it.

Nine pages of comments.  Maybe the massive shuffle button is not a good idea?  It is the major feature of the interface and if you are not a person who shuffles their music it's just annoying.   It's been mentioned before - why not at least give people a setting which lets it switch from a shuffle button to a play button?

A play button can also be smaller and fit the UI better..........

Why no action after 9 pages. I have got a first free month but it will be my last.

Just signed up for the 30-day trial, only to find that I can't play an album in order on the mobile app? If this doesn't get fixed I'm sure as hell not sticking around after the 30 days is up. Ten bucks a month is ten bucks too much to pay for that kind of worthless garbage.

That should not be happening. Make sure you are not tapping on the "shuffle play" button. Doing so will shuffle the playlist.

Instead, click the first song in the playlist, to play the whole thing in order.

Try logging out of the app, and then log back in.

If you are still having problems with the playback, try reinstalling the app.

If you then continue to have problems,

I suggest you contact support so they can help you fix this
