Block language

It's super annoying to block singers when you want to avoid some specific language on Discovery Weekly. So it would be nice to have the possibility to block a whole language and don't get connected recommendations.

I don't want to a absolutely see any contents in Spotify apart from kannada, I want option to block the ones I'm not interested in at language level because I have choosen only kannada as my preferred language but I see lot of Hindi, punjabi, telugu, tamil contents recommended absolutely irrelevant so I want option to completely block it. It is literally annoying to see so much of Hindi and other language recommendations and impacts my experience.

A law is being prepared in Ukraine that would make listening to music from an aggressor country (Russia) a crime. Therefore, I join the call to add an option to block artists from Russia.

Dear Spotify community, I can’t take it anymore. As a Ukrainian, it’s just traumatic to open my Discover Weekly and see 70–80% russian music - every week. I’ve never listened to it, yet your algorithm keeps pushing it. Why am I fed music from the country that invaded my home? 

I’ve been a loyal Spotify listener for over 10 years, but it’s insane what music I’m being recommended. I always remove every russian song your algorithm pushes into my playlists (many of them by artists who support the invasion of Ukraine). I can’t even play a mix out loud without risking being retraumatized. Please fix your algorithm and give us a possibility to block the language - we all know it is possible!

I agree with this! I’m Ukrainian living in Canada so my account and region is far away from russia now, but I still get russian music recommended from time to time even though I block russian artists every single time. Please fix this!
