DISLIKE BUTTON

If i hate a song, then I don't want to hear it ever again. All of us run into this on an hourly basis. Every single day. Why in the world cant we dislike (or thumb down) a song to remove it from existence? Why do you torture us by playing songs we don't want to hear?

There is a "hide" option (only on mobile), and its playlist specific. The desktop version doesn't even have this somewhat-useless feature.

So I vote for a universal dislike button. No playlist limitations. No desktop vs mobile limitations. No buttons hidden in submenus. Just a simple, easily accessible button that can eliminate our headaches once and for all.

I just found something, which could have been there all along, but I didn't know about. If you go to an artist's page and hit the 3 vertical dots beside the 'FOLLOW', you will see several options. One of them is: 'don't play this artist'. So that is all I need. After clicking that I don't see music from that artist anymore.

Hope that helps. Enjoy.

I have been waiting for something like this to appear for a very long time. There are simply songs that we just cannot stand.

But to make it less tough on the artist as having dislikes on their work, I would suggest to have a button "Always skip this song" and it will work similarly as when you are in a region where you cannot listen to a song due to copyright.

Moondance

We need a button (or something) to enable blocking of songs as well as artists. Both possibilities must exist in a modern music app.

A dislike button is a very dangerous idea which will easily be open to abuse. Let's not turn this into YouTube where users, with a biased agenda, would abuse the dislike button on there or Reddit where users abuse the downvote button. No dislike button should be instated, especially not publicly visible. I agree that their should be a "don't play this song" or a "swipe left" type of option where you won't hear the song again. But a dislike button is a retrogressive step backward. Thankfully, these comments don't have dislikes or "downvotes", otherwise it would be a perfectly good example since so many people here would love to "dislike" this comment. 🙄

I absolutely agree- just yesterday I was listening to the discover weekly playlist and a super inappropriate song came up, but then just now, the ai dj played it again.

It must be a hard feature to implement or something because it's such an obvious feature needed for pretty much anything online from search engines, to shopping apps, etc.

That being said I hope they do eventually figure out how to do it well.

This post isn't referring to the same dislike system youtube had. And they never should have removed that feature anyways.
