[Music] ASIO Output Support

Please can you add support for an ASIO audio output device?

As a owner of a separate headphone DAC + Amp, I get much better quality music when I'm using the bit-perfect ASIO output rather than DirectSound, which changes the audio bitstream before it reaches the DAC. ASIO output would be a great compliment to the Spotify high-quality streaming.

Thanks!

Just cancelled my Spotify Premium account for the lack of support of ASIO/WASAPI. This feature has been requested already for too long. Seems Spotify is not interested in high quality audio playback. Using the Qobuz streaming service now and wow what a difference. The GUI is not as good as Spotify yet but am sure they will improve it over time. Will revisit Spotify maybe in the future if this essential ASIO/WASAPI support is added.

Please add ASIO or WASAPI support in Spotify. We really need this option to get high quality sound!

Add me to the list as well, sound is not that great as of now. Tried wimp/flac and it's a pretty big difference in quality. Please add ASIO/WASAPI, not that hard to do.

I just found out that Windows 7 does not touch the sound if you set the sampling rate of the default device to the same value as your source. (http://blog.szynalski.com/2009/11/17/an-audiophiles-look-at-the-audio-stack-in-windows-vista-and-7/)

Using Fidelify with wasapi, my Microstreamer told me that Spotify uses a sampling rate of 44.1kHz. With my Microstreamer set at 44.1kHz/24 bit, Spotify sounds just as good as Fidelify in wasapi mode.

This is very easy to check with Fidelify: with the default device set to 44.1/24, I cannot hear a difference between wasapi and the default device. But when I set the default device to 96/24, the difference is huge.

Although I still prefer Spotify to use wasapi, this at least provides a way to get the best from your DAC.

Hi All,

I've written an ASIO Driver host called the WDM ASIO Link Driver here at http://midithru.net/Home/AsioLink .

This may do what you want by allowing windows sound (WDM) to be routed into ASIO with much better quality and control.

You can also stream ASIO back to a WDM stereo mix.

There is full documentation on the site and I think this may help you get high quality sound. Give it a try!

Happy listening!

Due to lack of asio support sound quality of spotify is inferior to sound quality of qobuz. Will cancel my spotify premium subscription for that reason.

Please add ASIO support. We audiophiles desperately need this!

Please add ASIO support.

+1 Please add ASIO Support!

Please add WASAPI and ASIO support!

Doing so will allow offline contents to have WASAPI/ASIO vs using Fidelify for stream.

The difference betwen Directsound vs WASAPI is quite noticeable
on 3rd party Spotify software like Fidelify. This is from an ODAC sound card and Tube Amp going to Fostex T50RP headphones. For those unfamiliar, Fidelify is a free 3rd party software that allows WASAPI and ASIO drivers to be used with a premium account.
