[Music] ASIO Output Support

Please can you add support for an ASIO audio output device?

As a owner of a separate headphone DAC + Amp, I get much better quality music when I'm using the bit-perfect ASIO output rather than DirectSound, which changes the audio bitstream before it reaches the DAC. ASIO output would be a great compliment to the Spotify high-quality streaming.

Thanks!

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea.

We're keeping this idea set to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

Rest assured that if we do have any new information to share, we'll check back in here with a new status.

Thanks.

Folks, I'd prefer Spotify to not ignore requests from users who care about quality but ASIO Bridge + ASIO4ALL is a reasonable workaround.

Hejsan Spotify,

Perhaps popularity shouldn't be the sole basis for adding features. Smartphones were not popular, **bleep** they didn't really exist, until Mr. Jobs had a go at it. The same could be said for Spotify--music streaming w/ ability to download wasn't popular until you led the way. Sometimes, you have to expose people to new ideas and features. I would like to see more support for audiophiles, and in the process, more people will become interested in high quality sound. WASAPI / ASIO, Mono output, and a graphic equializer. Thank God for Equalify--it takes care of the last two on my list, and Fidelify can take care of the first 2, but I can't use both at the same time. Please consider this. I am paying extra money for an EQ app that could easliy be going to you. You could even charge extra for an audiophile package--it certianly would not hurt your businsess. Thanks--Michael--a Suffering Swede in Sunny San Diego.

p.s. The "bleeped-out" word was for the term that means the opposite of Heaven, really? Maybe a little too politically correct?

Everyone who wants this feature should stop whining and spend $50 on JRiver, enable the WDM driver and then you get use all the goodies JRiver has to offer such as a powerful DSP engine and ASIO/Wasapi output. The WDM driver uses kernel streaming which lets you get  get bit-accurate stream from Spotify to JRiver. Sounds much better than the ASIO Bridge/asio4all combo that I previously mentioned.

WASAPI/ASIO support will be FANTASTIC!

We need asio support 😄

Please reconsider ASIO support. It does improve sound and why surrender to Tidal? 🙂

I need ASIO too. My audio interface supports 96khz audio only through ASIO due to change in windows 10 audio system. So it would be nice!

Wasapi and ASIO would be great. I would rather use my sound card than bad notebook DAC.

Don't hold your breath folks, Spotify clearly  isn't interested in keeping the audiophile crowd happy which is disappointing as most are premium subscribers.

I didn't even consider this before going premium, I thought they must have at least wasapi support. Now I have second thoughts tho. Fidelify shouldn't be the only bit-perfect solution. Direct sound is way too foggy for being the only option.

Seems like I will return to my old-school flac archive or I will try other services which offers bit-perfect streaming even over browser.
