Shuffle the queue

I tend to make queues more than using playlists as I like to be in control of what I want to listen to. However, when I’m listening to new music I like to add multiple songs from other artists and manually shuffle the queue. Adding a shuffle option to queues will help in group settings as well as we’d be able to shuffle the queue with songs added by everyone. It would add to the surprise factor of what the next song is going to be. I think it would be great addition to add shuffle to queues as well.

I have been wanting this feature for so long as well!

Might be a niche problem, but sometimes I go through my liked songs to select songs I wanna hear in that very moment and put them in the queue. But since the liked songs are chronologically ordered, so is the queue.

Therefore I would love to have the option to shuffle/ mix the songs in the queue, so I don't have to create a playlist, but can still enjoy them in a random order.

When playlists are added to the queue, I can’t shuffle them - the tracks can only be played in the order they were in the playlist, and in the order the playlists were added to the queue. My use case is: I have multiple playlists, which I can shuffle individually. But let’s say, on a given day, I want to mix up two (or more) playlists, and have the tracks (from either playlist) played randomly. Of course I could create a new playlist C where I add playlists A and B. And then I could shuffle playlist C. But my point is: I only wanted to combine A and B on that specific day. The day after, I want to combine two other playlists, just for that session. Why can’t I just shuffle the queue?

When adding playlist to a listening queue, "add shuffled" button/option would be great I think

The feature to shuffle the queue, for instance made up by two or more playlists, is so basic that I couldn't believe my eyes when I realized that it is not working. Why put the shuffle feature on the playlists, that are collection of songs making up my library?! Of course one wants to shuffle the order of playing, i.e. the queue!

The fact that this functionality, present in players since winamp or older, must be requested is a testament to how user-unfriendly spotify UI is.

Add the shuffle button for any playlist.

This is such a basic feature available in literally ALL audio file players but for some reason one of the most used streaming services of all time just doesn't have it... I switched from downloading my music illegally using MediaHuman and Pulsar to Spotify but I wish I could just shuffle the queue, I'm begging Spotify developers please!

When you add a playlist to queue, it does not add it in its shuffled state even if the button is clicked; it just adds it top down. I feel like I’ve ran into this issue a lot and it can be pretty easily fixed!

Shuffle Queue absolutely should be a feature, I'd use it daily.

I can understand why Spotify wouldn't want to add this however as I use the queue as intended as well, and accidentally shuffling the queue might annoy / confuse some users. A potential feature that I think would fix all of this would be temporary playlists. Brand it however you want, vanishing playlists, Todaylist, moodlist, whatever, but something so you can build a playlist that will automatically be deleted in a set time (Could expose this to users too) something like per session, daily, set amount of hours, etc.

Then you could control it like a playlist, but add to it as recklessly as a queue. Icing on the cake, if you decided you like the playlist, there then could be a button to convert it to a permanent playlist, or a Moodlist.

A moodlist is another feature idea I have where you tag playlists based on custom "moods" and then can filter them on those moods. Then if you are in an angry and sad mood you could see your lists of those moods. Would also be awesome to be able to queue up several playlists to play and even shuffle between them in a single play session.

I believe a lot of this exists based on Spotify user data algorithms and AI I'm sure. I'd rather have full control of it.
