Coming from Apple Music, I'm very disappointed that Airplay on Mac doesn't really work directly through the app. Definitely a reason to switch back.

EDIT: This thread is from 2019 and Spotify's status is "live idea". So you don't know if it's sad or funny.

When playing back music from iPhone to the homepod via airplay there is a slight delay. The music is not in sync with the lyrics. It‘s time for an update to airplay 2. 🙂

So Apple fixed your little watchOS 9 bug when streaming over LTE. When can you return the favor and give your customers AirPlay 2 buffered playback? Is it time for Apple to remove Spotify from the AppStore for refusing to implement such a critical feature that is nearly 4 years old now?

Spotify “could” implement AirPlay2 any time. They simply don’t want to.

Apple Music will catch up & Apple users will jump ship, then take non-Apple family and friends with them.

Spotify have years of brand loyalty, however it’s running out.

Further politicking & procrastination mean less customers.

I  understand spotifuggle has a beef with Apple, but users are not the ones that should be hurting with this, I was a loyal Spotify user for years, but I guess I need to migrate to a service that proper support my devices.

I'm really considering switching to Apple Music. Lack of AirPlay 2 and native home pod support makes Spotify far less useful to me. This issue has been open you years and Spotify seems preoccupied with shoving Joe Rogan and podcasts down our throats.
