Guess what everyone? Hardware volume controls are going away now unless the app uses the AirPlays API's which Spotify committed to doing years ago. And Spotify is having a dummy spit to the EU about it...

Any updates on Airplay 2? Last comment from Spotify is from 2021 that they are implementing it.

At this point, this is clearly just Spotify throwing a tantrum to spite Apple in any way possible, except it also spites their own users who pay Spotify every month for the privilege to use an app that won’t even stream music to AirPlay speakers without horrible dropouts and audio issues. What a joke of a company.

Support was promised nearly 4 years ago and the idea was suggested 6 years ago. A child born on the day this idea was first suggested is almost old enough to code it themselves.

There is no use in asking any longer! It’s not gonna happen. Spotify have zero incentive to do this besides goodwill towards their customers and they clearly don’t have any.

I finally got tired and ended my subscription a month ago or so after... I don't know... 10 years, maybe? Now I regret no having left earlier.
