Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

 

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

 

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

 

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

i hope you have considered that it was not used much because it was hardly ever communicated in the first place. if the touch preview does not return, i won't either. please bring it back, at least as an option for the hold touch in the settings pane. ❤️

… and while you're at it, please just add it to the desktop app aswell! There is no reason it shouldn't work there too.

Touch Preview was such a great feature! Now I can't preview a song before adding it to a playlist so I find myself constantly having to search up songs on YouTube to preview them. Such an unnecessary hassle that can be easily resolved! Please bring it back!! 😊

One of my most used features on mobile. Crucial for discovering new music and building playlists. I can "stream" from anyone. Stop removing differential features

this was hands down the best feature spotify had to offer. Ive had spotify for many years and was here before the touch preview was implemented. once it came out i was ectstatic and used it DAILY. i am comstantly looking for new music and touch preview is tha reason i would scour the discover section endlessly with ease. now that its gone i find it to be more of a hassle to go through new songs to see if i like it. i feel like this also hurts lesser known artists as well.

You guys seriously need to bring this back. Why would you get rid of such an excellent and useful feature. I used this often especially when exploring the "similar artists" section. You could simply hold down on an artist and preview some of their music. It was perfect. But now it's gone... Why would you remove that feature???
