[iOS][Discover] Restore Touch Preview on iOS App

Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

 

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

 

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

 

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

I’m really disappointed. There’s old songs I have stuck in my head, and the touch preview always worked great for finding the songs from within my library.

Poor decision, I used it often. Really the only reason I choose Spotify over Apple Music.

Why can't we send song requests to friends on Spotify like messages, and let them join and enjoy the vibe I am in rn

It bums me out that this feature was removed. I still occasionally do it today only to be confused why it isn’t working. It was such a fun and easy way to cruise through an album looking for a specific song or to go through a playlist getting the gist of it. Please restore this feature. The low engagement isn’t because people don’t like it; it’s because they don’t know about it. I keep up with tech blogs so I heard about it—none of my friends do though so none of them were aware of the feature. Please restore it and explain it with a splash screen or tip.

Bring it back please until now I have stuck with Spotify but this will make me have to go to Apple Music

Frequent user of touch preview. Thought it a great feature. My vote is to restore, ASAP.

 Please, please restore this feature! It was the main way that I was able to find songs to download onto my dance playlists without having to download every song and then delete, esp since I listen to this in my car while driving most of the time and if a song I hate comes on I can't stop to delete it off my list! My son and daughter use this all the time too- as a way to find new music they wouldn't otherwise know about.

Ugh!! I was wondering why my Spotify app on my iPhone wasn't playing the previews anymore!! I had to google this to find out the feature was removed. It was so much better because you could just hold and scroll your finger through an entire playlist quickly to preview the main parts of the song. It made discovering music a lot more easy! It was a major feature that set Spotify apart from other apps. It's really disappointing.

 

Now, if I want to quickly preview a song, I'm stuck having to go back to my playlist, click on the song I was listening to, then go back again in my search, find another song I want to preview, and repeat all over again. It sucks.

So, when will this be added back? Being able to preview songs was the only way I was able to organize my yoga playlists for my classes. Now I have to start each song, open the song where the artwork plays, forward it to the middle, and so on. This is too much of a hassle for me to pay Spotify for my subscription every month.
