Touch preview removal on last iOS vers. update looks like it hasn't been a great idea. You are on time to restore it, one of the best Spotify features.

Thanks for coming to the Community, and adding your vote to this idea!

 

This feature was originally removed from the app due to low engagement. There was a statement at the time which you can check out at https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/Touch-Preview-on-iOS-removal/td-p/1857905.

 

We're keeping this idea as 'Not Right Now', as it's not something we have any immediate plans to add back onto the app.

 

If we do have any new info to share we'll check back in here with a new status.

The person who decided to remove this should absolutely be fired on the spot. The app kust feels broken without this feature. If this does not return before 2018, i’m gone.

Everyone, if you are passionate about this feature, please come back and comment every few days. If we speak up enough hopefully they will start listening to their customers!!

One of the biggest reasons I fell in love with the app a few months ago when I first bough tit was the preview feature. I was so much more enthusiastic about the app and I was way more likely to reccomend it my friends or convince them to buy it. Now im just dissapointed that my favorite feature is gone and I cant check another song without losing my currently played song’s progress.

Makes no sense to me.

Are there any developers who see these threads or know about them or is this just an automated customer service ticket interface disguised as a forum for suggestions?

Please restore touch preview. Little features like this are what make Spotify the coolest music streaming and discovery platform on iOS. 

 

This along with several other UX-centric features like it (e.g. swipe to queue) are to me what differentiates Spotify from its primary competitor. I’m pretty much an Apple fanboy, but Spotify’s UI design is much more focused on the little details that make the user’s experience easier.

 

I’m beginning to lose trust in the app’s coolest features because I’m afraid that they will be stripped away for no reason, like this one was.

Even if it had a low engagement rate, isn't it possible to still leave it there? Please bring it back, I used it quite often.

I’m thinking this Spotify community is just a platform for us to moan instead of contacting Spotify, perhaps if we all contact them direct they may pay attention!
