[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Frankly, if this is not implemented, it may lead me to switch to Apple Music or any other supported streaming service. So, please, Spotify, get your act together and be the adult.

Yes. One would think they would have been ready the first day of
opportunity. Are we being played with?

Time To Play Fair: “Apple HomePod launches without Spotify support”

Well, they’re playing fair. Yet nothing from Spotify, not even a timeline of when we can expect this to happen. Time is ticking before Apple Music becomes my streaming service of choice.

I will be canceling my Spotify membership unless we get a timeline on this.

Homepod Spotify integration is in status: New idea.

New idea? Really? Should it be a suggested idea by the community and not a zeroday implemented feature when apple gave the chance to do it???
This is f*** ridiculous. :)))
I see, it never gonna happen, but hey Spotify, i suggest you something:

Everybody is waiting for this integration since the homepod exists, so change the topic status to VERY OLD IDEA, it is better for the eyes :))

well, apple wont mentioned spotify, competitor no1, in their keynotes. but as far as i learned, its now time for spotify to work on the integration, same as Pondora did. apple wont actively support 3rd party streaming, Spotify and other has to lift their buds and get the work done.

Spotify are being so incredibly short sighted by not already implementing this feature. My family are investing heavily in HomePod Minis in our home, and because of Spotify not featuring native HomePod support, they are all now clamouring to move over to Apple Music. And I must admit, with both my family demanding it and my own desire for the HomePod integration, I’m for the first time very seriously considering moving to Apple Music, and it is extremely tempting now we have the HomePod minis.

Spotify have nothing to lose by implementing this feature, as their customers will already be paying for their service anyway, whereas they only have customers to lose if they don’t implement this, and soon. We have a family account. If we move to Apple Music, Spotify will lose one whole family account and potentially 4 future individual accounts once we disperse to our own places. It really is a no brainer.

Please, Spotify. Listen to your customers. Let them access the service they pay you for with ease, using the devices they want to use. Don’t let your own hubris and pride get in the way of a slam-dunk business decision. You only have customers and money to lose.

Right.

i don’t understand why company fighting their beef over the back on us, customer. Especially those who stand loyal to Spotify while being same time in Apple environment.

Indeed. Or why it can be done with the iPhone and Watch but they are not
doing it with the HomePod. Or why they pretend it is a new idea etc. Or why
the Media don't see a story in it.

Typical trash support from Spotify. I've already started an Apple Music account to get the most out of my HomePods but would love to have Spotify instead. It won't be long before I bin off my premium sub though.
