[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Spotify Connect still not supporting HomePod and HomePod mini. Three years fooling its customers. The company has decided to increase the price of Premium subscriptions, so for me it's time to say goodbye to Spotify. Three years of waiting have been enough.

I didn't realize until today there is an apple music app for windows now. Its still in beta (preview). I'm hoping they add podcasts to it and then I can jump over there and be done with it.

I prefer the social aspect and playlists of Spotify but without the service being easily accessible to me on my HomePods, I have decided to leave the service for Apple Music. I’m locked into Apple One now because of Spotify’s lack of listening to customer feedback.

Adios!

Thinking about cancelling Spotify Family plan and moving to Apple Music. Costs roughly the same but support high-res Audio and all my devices.

I cancelled my subscription two days ago and moved back to Apple Music. Couldn't be much happier. The only pain point was re-creating my playlist with the exact songs, but it's not bad once you get the process going.

I'm going to admit that those who haven't used Apple Music might find the interface jarring, but that applies to all new interfaces anyway.

Once you get over the above two, I couldn't be much happier to be back.

- Lossless and Hi-Res music at the same price

- Direct HomePod support without having to use your other device to stream

- Dolby Atmos

- Apple Sing - a very cool feature to eliminate the vocals and have your own Karaoke party

- more royalties in the hands of the artists

All for the same price. Not patronizing Spotify in the foreseeable future.

It is time to implement this feature. It has been quite a while from when the API has been available and still the feature is lacking. You would make a lot of people happy by doing this, basically the majority of people using the homepod.

and it is even financially viable as it would give people who primarily use the homepod as their main listening device an additional option to apple music.

It's time ! 🔔

After few months to waiting this feature, I changed all my family for Apple Music and to be honest it's pretty good !

I can now heard all my playlist directly since my Homepod, and to top it all off, it's now cheaper to use Apple Music instead Spotify!

To be honest the lossless and Dolby Atmos are incredible. Spotify falls short !

I wish to all Spotify users which wait this feature, good luck !

What gives Spotify???  Your service is becoming a real pain point in my home automation system!!

Been waiting forever for this. Well, last time visiting this page. Cancelling my family subscription now and moving to Apple One… 👋

Realized today this is Spotify not wanting to implement this feature. Until today I was thinking it was Apple not doing it. I have a couple of Apple services and I was not moving to Apple Music because I liked Spotify, but lately and specially with this, I'll consider moving to Apple Music or Tidal.
