[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Please upvote this idea to garner attention for it.  Thank you Spotify and the Spotify community.  Let's get this implemented so it's ready for general iOS 14 release this September!

Been a Spotify user for 5 years and counting. If Spotify keeps being that petty I will cancel tho and switch to Apple music. Don't be like this, even Apple listens to its customers now, are you really worse than apple? Just sad...

Give us an UPDATE @Spotify or don't wonder if everyone cancels their subscription till the end of the year.

This is the time frame I give you, not a single day more. I am sick and tiered of waiting any longer.

Jimmy_beats

This is mad. Normally I would just wait, but Spotify have been saying they would add this for AAAGES and still haven’t done it, so I’m cancelling. Bye.

Apple allows this to work. Spotify doesn‘t care. That is the problem.
Ignoring this feature request further on will bring me to cancel my Spotify subscription and changing to Apple Music.
For me there has never been a reason to do so, but now there is.

It is honestly baffling how long this has taken to implement for such a big company.

I know resources are limited and you need to prioritize but you should probably also consider the impact it has on the reputation of your brand.

If Spotify were willing to allocate one-tenth of the resources they put on Wrapped into this idea, it'd be done. They choose to ignore Apple users out of spite.

I’ve been waiting for HomePod support for more than a year. All this time I didn't cancel my subscription because I believed Spotify would support HomePod. But I see the number of votes for this idea, more than a hundred pages of users requests and no comments from Spotify, I can’t take it anymore.

Yesterday I canceled my Spotify subscription and completely switched to Apple Music. I will be happy to come back if there will be Apple HomePod support, AirPlay 2 and Lossless.

I pointed this scenario out to a young lady who did a freelance article on
Spotify iin the Guardian newspaper. No reply. Ignored a prompt too. In fact
I have had no response fom any journalist or magazine. I am particularly
disappointed in Stereophile who had done a review of the HomePod. Unless
they published it as a letter-I don't read the letter section.
I thought the media liked controversy.

God, this is such a deal breaker.

I had to cancel 😞 We want to use our new HomePod mini.

So we returned to Deezer. Apple Music is still the most seamlessly fitting choice for Apple, but Deezer works too and we use Deezer for years.

For us Deezer and Spotify are both the best choice ( audiobooks, following artists, organising music, recommended music, lists of favourite songs/ chosen albums.  Plus Deezer: Radio, neverending Flow, quick personal customer service, easier Family access). I will miss Spotifys fantastic recommendations and cooperation with Shazam though. I hope Spotify will soon cooperate with Apples HomePod. But at the monent we can't wait.
