[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Very conveniently Apple Music now has a 6 months trial for HomePod owners, bye bye Spotify I guess 👋

Well spotted. I guess Apple have worked out this is an opportunity for
them. Interestng that they thnk HomePod owners are worth having in whatever
number but Spotify contnue to not bother and to penalise their own
subscribers.

I just got a homepod without checking this because I was certain this would be implemented by now. Such a huge  disappointment. I haven't used Apple Music before so now I got to check that out and if this is a missing feature when the free trial ends it seems like the only way to solve it is to stop my spotify subscription which i've had going since the beta.

PLEASE JUST DO THIS!!! WE ARE GETTING TIRED TO ASK NICELY!

WhyDontYouDoIt

This is a joke.

Spotify is a disgrace.

We should flood their customer support with requests of this.

What a disgrace. 5 years.

Really surprises me that after two years, this still isn’t implemented. Only recently bought a HomePod, and going to take advantage of the 6months free subscription for AppleMusic. It was so long ago that I can’t even remember when I signed up with Spotify, but I’ll stay with AppleMusic if it’s not implemented by the time the trial finishes. Would be a shame to cancel now but with smart home systems becoming quickly mainstream, I just can’t understand how this is still an issue.

This is where we are at:

- "Spotify has still not enabled AirPlay 2 in its iPhone and iPad app, nearly six months after last promising to support the feature". https://www.macrumors.com/2022/01/25/spotify-still-doesnt-support-airplay-2/

- Still no HomePod native support in sight.

- Still no Hi-Fi implementation almost a year later after committing to release the feature.

But sure, Spotify, keep blaming Apple and defending Joe Rogan and its vaccine misinformation, you're very good at it.

Please stop penalising your loyal subscribers Spotify! We just want some native, Spotify Connect support of HomePod & HomePod Minis - the longer this isn't supported, the more people will check out other options... 🤷‍♂️

Gave them sooooo much time to make this and a few other small things
happen, clearly these are popular ideas but they'd rather blame other
companies, pay artists pennies and now choose stupid podcasts over
music.  Think I'm about done.  Clearly they don't need my money.
