[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Yes. I personally think it was very reasonable to presume Spotify would
implement this if they were allowed. I suspect a lot of people bought
Homepods expecting to gain this function. Reasons have been put forward for
why Spotify may not be able to implement but one wonders why they would
make so much fuss if it were not possible. One wonders what is in it for
Spotify and Mr Ek to blank a forum now at 119 pages.

Can’t believe Spotify is just ignoring this feature, their lack of interest on providing a good experience to their clients is beyond limits.

I read every post in this thread since I changed to apple music because of this. I would love to come back but to be honest, my hope and interest is decresing… This topic has really messed up by spotify

It's almost two years now, just feels like Spotify is just slacking at this point.
No HiFi, No HomePod native support.

But, hey. Look at our Yearly Wrapped!

Come on guys, don't drive us away to Apple Music.

Oh It's coming soon... See, they love music and musicians:

Again, if you value music... move on.  #spotify(doesn't)care

I would love to see this idea become reality. This would mean that I could play music from my HomePod by just asking Siri. No other device involved.

Apart from simply being able to ask Siri to play music, I think the biggest win would be getting rid of the unstable and battery-draining AirPlay connection.

Wow. Just unpacked the HomePod and thought there must be some mistake. This is nuts. Like many others I'll do the Apple Music trial and see where we are in six months.

C'mon Spotify, don't be a **bleep**.

Edit: was going to fix the (very tame) **bleep** but I rather like the mystery. 😀

Ha!  Don't hold your breath... many of us have been waiting for years
now, specifically since the 2020 WWDC announcement. Currently, Deezer,
iHeartMedia, Pandora and others I'm probably forgetting have had no
problem implementing the support once Apple opened it up.

Spotify doesn't want to support homepod and clearly their EU complaint
(filed before the WWDC announcement) was only posturing.  They're
playing a game (appendage measuring contest) with Apple and their
customers are the losers of the game.

Stay with Spotify if you enjoy podcasts over music, move on to other
services (apple music has Lossless as well as spatial for no extra
charge) if you value music.

Mr EK has made it clear they don't care about music.  My guess it it's
cheaper for them to not have to pay for a majority of podcasts but
collect ad revenue over underpaying artists.

Moving on from Spotify was a great move and I don't even miss it,
especially with the multiroom audio I now have access to via Apple Music.
