[iOS] Implement Native HomePod Support

Details

Just this week at WWDC (June 22, 2020), Apple announced support for third party music services on the HomePod.  I'm requesting that Spotify implement native support for the HomePod such that one or even multiple HomePods will appear in the "Connect to a device" menu on any Apple device WITHOUT having to connect through Airplay.  This will also allow users to ask Siri to play songs from Spotify on their HomePod(s).

Apple is opening up the HomePod, and I know there are many other HomePod users that would love to have native Spotify support on their speaker.

Please upvote this idea to garner attention for it.  Thank you Spotify and the Spotify community.  Let's get this implemented so it's ready for general iOS 14 release this September!

Apple allows this to work. Spotify doesn‘t care. That is the problem.
Ignoring this feature request further on will bring me to cancel my Spotify subscription and changing to Apple Music.
For me there has never been a reason to do so, but now there is.

@tryingtothink That has nothing to do with the HomePod. Spotify has had the opportunity to use the function that Apple has implemented into the HomePod (just like Pandora has done) but has failed to do so.

It does seem that frequent replies to this topic has perhaps kept it bumped up the list enough that the rate of votes seems to have increased... hopefully this may have a run-on effect. It’s something to keep in mind anyway.

Additionally, it seems to me that this is the post with the highest number of votes that is still in the default “New Idea” status which I think means it has not received a response from Spotify staff. All other ideas that have more votes, and indeed many with fewer votes, have been addressed to at least some degree and had their status changed.

Many other issues with a similar number of votes are also much older, suggesting that this is a particularly hot issue for many...

Nice find @Stahlex, gotta hurt a little bit getting called out by media in your own country. We need more of that!

Edit: more comments disappearing.. okay

My post is rejected, I can't find a reason??

Good thing I saved a copy. I can't see any keywords that would trigger auto-rejection, except maybe the time to play fair . com website? The alternative is that it was manually rejected...

I have used both AM and Spotify now because I have both on student subscriptions. After commenting on this thread a few weeks ago I decided to transfer my playlists to AM and use it for HomePod. After using it, I’ve come a little more accustomed to AM. Hopefully Spotify implements support soon, but my god the support at Spotify is severely lacking. I gaurentee they are losing money for not implementing a lot of features on apple devices which is a shame. Been with Spotify for almost 10 years, I shouldn’t have to do this.

Odd that ZJack's post got rejected. Looked fine to me.

Me: "Hey Siri, play my list on spotify"

Siri on my HomePod: "The app hasn't added support for that with Siri"

Me thinking: "Spotify wouldn't do that, something else must be wrong"

Nope. After wasting an hour, to my disappointment, I found this page.

Please add this feature.
