[iOS] Landscape mode on iPhone

Hello folks!

Since we just released "Landscape Mode on Android" and we marked the idea as "implemented", we wanted it to be fair with iPhone users (half of the comments were supporting Android half iPhone) so we have created this idea just for you iPhone users!

We have also added half of the kudos to be entirely fair.

Give it some kudos if you want to see this implemented.

Why are you catering only to Android users on this?!?!? Why not give iPhone users the same function? I cannot stand using Spotify while in the car for this very reason. Stop showing favoritism and be fair to all people who give you the same amount of money!

Spotify, please, listen to your customers !!! I'm paying more than two years....

And, yes, I do need landscape!!!

For example, there are so many cars with dashboard phone holders (example: vw up!), and it's almost unusable to put phone into this holder (works ONLY landscaspe), where everything else I can have in landscape, except Spotify ...

I have to rotate my head during drive, it's so dangerous !!!

What's the problem to give us such a trivial feature?!

Hey there Spotify team - I would love it if you could provide landscape mode for the iphone Spotify app.  It makes things so much easier in my car to have landscape mode!  I'm sure Apple is not interested in helping because they want us to use Carplay, but I have an older car that can't do carplay so I rely on my phone for Spotify in the car.  I had an android phone for the last two years and it had landscape mode so I have been very disappointed that my new iphone does not have this feature.  Please reconsider and get to work!  Thank you.

Landscape mode would be very useful indeed on a big iPhone.  If I had to choose between portrait and landscape  I would certainly choose landscape over portrait.

It seems as Spotify doesn’t care about iPhone/iPod users. I mean why couldn’t they have implemented landscape mode for both iOS and Android at the time they came up with the idea? Seems very one sided to me regardless of how many customers request the idea. Time to listen to your customers, paying customers that is or lose your customers due to inconsideration!

Spotify's main competitor on iPhone is Apple Music. Apple Music doesn't have landscape either. Should Spotify's spend development on a meaningless feature when they already have more users than AM? All about capitalism.

@iamttl You’re skipping the point, it has nothing to do with Spotify’s competitor it’s just the fact that this feature has been requested for many years now, which may sound pointless to you BUT YOU forget that we the customers pay for Spotify therefore I’m terms of customer satisfaction they should listen to “their” customers and experiment on the services they provide. Spotify is better than Apple Music by a clear mile (make that two or more so you get point). If Apple Music doesn’t have the feature then that in my mind means that if Spotify can work out a way with Apple to enable this feature for their Apple users then Spotify beats all competitions...unless Apple Music beat them to it or do the same thing so they can keep the competition.

I actually understand the reasoning that Spotify are using for not adding Landscape view but really it has no merit.

They are resisting because if you use your phone while driving, it’s a distraction so they are trying to avoid people wanting to use their phone while driving.

where this falls apart is Spotify allows portrait mode which means it’s harder to navigate and causes more of a distraction when driving.

secondly Google music has landscape mode so the argument is kind of mute - add to this SAT nav in phones is landscape and everyone uses that.

In an age where most phones are over 6” in screen size, landscape is the only sensible option.

come on Spotify, just get it done.
