Spotify on iOS needs an update

I have been a free Spotify PC user since it was being tested in the U.S. market, I have been a Premium member for two months now.

I have two phones (one work, one personal) and my work phone is a Samsung GSII and my personal is an iPhone 5. Hands down the Android app is superior, it allows you to see similiar artists after you search for one, it allows you to play the TOP 5 SONGS from an artist which is something I use frequently on the PC.

The iOS version does not have this and has not been updated for quite some time - the fact that it has not been updated and has yet to support the iPhone 5 screen size increase (not a huge issue for me) is an issue.

We are paying customers, why are we getting a lesser experience because of the device we use your service on when we are all contributing the same amount?

I am personally going to end my subscription until the iOS app brings itself to modern times.

Have a look at this thread, its 6 months old and has 84 comments for people requesting basic music management sorting by artist / album on the mobile App.

Spotify have now upgraded the status to "considering implementing it".

Completely unacceptable.

iPhone 5 support is confirmed for next release. I talked to a Spotify iOS dev.

No ETA was given.

I know it's a given that they will be updating the iOS App as it hasn't been touched for quite some time and I also understand it can take awhile before Apple approves the updates to be published through their App Store.

The fact that i've been exposed to both the Android and iOS apps have just made me realize how much we're missing out on iOS and how dated the software feels due to the lack of any significant update.

I praise Spotify as a service, and will continue to do so but very much dislike the iOS app as I feel like I am paying a premium for LESS functionality than being a free subscriber on my PC when the Android market gets all of the PC features.

Wanted to bump this post to keep it visible to other folks looking for the same resolve.

Does anyone else use the Top 5 Songs (on PC/Android) for an artist? I know I like to listen to the most popular songs if it's an artist i'm not familiar with. This very useful feature (through my eyes) is something that is useable on the PC and Android app and also Related Artists.

I'll bring back my subscription Spotify, just please grant us these features.
