3-dot menu on Now Playing View crashes iOS app

We're getting reports that accessing the song menu (3-dot menu) on NPV is causing the app to crash on iOS devices. This is being looked into.

I’ve been having this damn issue for the past few days too, I’m close to throwing my phone into a wall, I can’t even add the recommended song to my playlist unless I search it up and tap the three buttons to the right side of the song when it appears🫠

Yep me too on iPhone 8. I've seen a few posts with this exact issue and everyone it happens to seems to be on iOS 16.6 so I'm not sure what the deal with that is. Please fix this bug soon!!

Thanks for reaching out. 

When did this start happening? Does it happen on other devices too or only on your iPhone? If possible, please test on other devices and other iPhones and let us know how it goes.

Keep in mind though that there is a known issue with the app crashing on iOS that we're investigating right now. You can check out this thread and try the troubleshooting steps provided (which will include a reinstall as that's known to resolve many issues) and follow the thread to stay up to date. Hopefully when that gets resolved it will fix your issue too.

Since the behaviour you have is more specific, we'll keep your thread separate. If the issue persists after the aforementioned issue is resolved, we'll continue our investigation here. If you test and prove that the this isn't isolated to your iPhone, then it's definitely different from the other issue and we'll be happy to help you further.

I have the same issue on my iphone X (ios 16.7.10). The app crashes every time i click on the three dot menu or shuffle button or the sleep timer button. Happened after the recent spotify update.

I have tested on other devices (MacBook Air [early 2014]) and iPhone 14, neither of which see to have had the same issue. I have seen 2 other threads with people having this exact same issue, all running iOS 16.7.10. I first noticed this happening yesterday morning (Sat. 7 December) but I'm assuming it had something to do with the most recent Spotify update, as I updated it on the 6th and hadn't encountered that issue beforehand. I have still not reinstalled the app as I am reluctant to have to download 3000+ songs all over again. I will not reinstall the app unless you specifically tell me to, for the reasons I mentioned before. Please keep me updated though 🙂

I also read through the other thread you linked but it seemed to be a very different issue to the one I'm having.
