We've received reports that connecting to the car automatically plays Liked Songs playlist, with or without Car Thing.

This is being investigated.

Some fixes were put in place earlier this year, and it did resolve the issue for many users. 

However we are aware of issues still being experienced with resumption of playback for some users. 

If this is the case for you, please:

• Tell us what you expected to happen vs what actually happened 
• Whether you use iOS or Android 
• The date/time this issue occurred 
• Write in the post that you consent for us to look up your account to check the logs

We are actively investigating the reports that you provide - but we must have all the details as noted here.

I was told to post here. I'm having a similar issue, but I don't have a car thing set up, and it only happens with the Bluetooth adapter I have in my car, even with Android Auto turned off

Having the same issue

Spotify: 8.8.90.593

Car Thing App Version: 0.42.3

Car Thing OS Version: 8.4.4

It only does it when car thing is plugged in

1. For me, my phone only connects to the Spotify Car Thing as my car’s stereo does not have the capability of connecting to my cell phone. 

2. My car’s stereo cannot connect to my phone, so the Spotify Car Thing connects first. 

3. I’ve only ever connected to my Spotify Car Thing via bluetooth and the issue has been occurring for several weeks now.

My Question or Issue

Hi there, all of a sudden when my car turns on and Bluetooth connects, Spotify will start playing from Liked Songs instead of whatever playlist I was listening to before. My car does not have CarPlay, just regular Bluetooth audio. This issue is super annoying and I'd love some help reverting the behavior to how it was before. Thanks!

Same issue here! Happening on my phone via Bluetooth connection, not through the Car Thing.

If my phone is open with the Spotify app open then it doesn’t happen but otherwise it is still happening when Car Thing turns on.

hi it started happening to me a few days ago. I don’t have the car thing I just use Bluetooth

I'm also having this issue. I've deleted all the songs off my liked songs playlist to try and stop this problem and it hasn't worked. Spotify will play nothing and disrupt whatever playlist/podcast I was listening to.
