[Desktop] Spotify won't resume after pause with bluetooth headphones

I'm unable to resume after i pause the music for a few minutes with my headphones over bluetooth.

Hey everyone,

Thank you for reporting this issue to us.

We just wanted to let you know that the right folks are looking into this.

We're not able to provide an exact timeline for a fix, but we'd recommend always keeping your Spotify app and all devices fully up-to-date.

Thanks!

It's been 3 damn years, FIX IT.

Been having this same issue for years, everytime I don't play music for 30 minutes I have to restart spotify just to play music again.

- MacOS Catalina

- Sony XM3 Bluetooth Headphones

- Using the Mac Media Key Forwarder in case that affects this

This is becoming infuriating.

Turning bluetooth headphones off/on (or reconnecting) helps.  Even without restarting the Spotify app. But bug reproduces next time anyway.

For everyone with this issue and still following this seriously long thread, I suggest hitting up the help team on twitter https://twitter.com/SpotifyCares. They don't have a solution but it is a way for us to amplify the problem. I am pretty sure no one at Spotify is paying any attention to this issue here on the community page anymore, but the twitter is like writing directly into the support staff. @ them on twitter and then in a DM I linked this issue and explained the problem. They went through the normal steps or trying to get me to reinstall Spotify which, of course, didn't help (tried that before), but at least we can hit them up with complaints and maybe even get this problem escalated.

It seems that I didn't get this issue for weeks, anyone made the same statement?  (I'm in 1.1.37.690)

By the way, is there a changelog somewhere?

Still have this in 1.1.38.558.g4b100958 (macOS)

Sony WH-1000XM3

I noticed, it also "loses connection" if I go to the lock screen, and log in again. Which happens all the time, since I do that every time I leave my desk at the office.

I'm losing my mind with this issue.

I even tried to use the web client since youtube continues to playback, then i remember to open Chrome DevTools to check the requests. Heres some screenshots.

It responds with a 404 saying "Device not found".

I've also been experiencing this issue for a long time. You would think a company this size would have fixed it by now.

I have also had this issue for months and months and months.... Can't believe it's still happening and Spotify haven't fixed this yet?!

I use a Macbook Air, running Mojave 10.14.6

PLEEEEEEASE can you fix this, Spotify?! 🙏
