Low volume when casting Spotify

Hello

I had been using spotify with several google home devices for a few months with no problem.

It started about 1 month ago for no reasons: I have a very low volume when casting spotify on my devices:

Harman Kardon Citation 500

Google home mini

It means when I use google assistant or any other app (tunein for radio, bluetooth on the speaker..) the volume is perfectly fine and loud. When I Switch to Spotify I have to double the volume level at least to get the same output...!

Harman Kardon support couldn't help me at all so I hope someone can give me a solution ?

I've try unplugging the speakers, factory reset... didn't work

@CommUserWell the people answering this thread aren't the ones who are responsible for this problem and most likely the devs aren't the problem too. This is probably down to just a few people having this issue because I don't think every user of Google home has this problem or most of the Spotify users do not use a Google home device so this problem has not a very high priority to Spotify. I moved to Deezer since I want to use my home speakers and they have the same price but as a developer my self I can tell you that most of the time there are not enough devs on a project and then they have to decide which problem is fixed first. But a company like Spotify should be able to fix a issue like this way faster because paying users can't use Spotify property.

I have had this issue since March. Are there any updates with this

I too have this. I have 6 google home and CCA devices throughout the home and ALL register the same volume. 

In an experiment, I have both Plex and Spotify. Casting audio from Plex yields (what I feel) is the correct normal volume. Playing the same exact song from Spotify is noticeably quieter. It's the same with any other song as well (I just happened to have the same song on Plex as Spotify).

Same thing with Pandora - volume is noticeably higher than Spotify.

I've had this issue for a long time now... it had to have started sometime last year.

@Jimmy_beats I've given up on this...  I was really hoping that the implementation of Spotify HiFi would somehow address this, but they haven't even released that.

I have given up on this too as it's been a year of having this issue. I had Google helping me out with it too and they even confirmed the issue is with Spotify as everything else is casting at a normal volume.

I have the same issue. Just bought a Harman Kardon Citation One and when casting to it using Spotify, the volume is so low. Every other app casts just fine when it comes to volume.

As far as I can see, it's not just me and the issue it's pretty old. Hopefully a fix is coming soon 🙂

@ametist0 they will not fix this. Just go to Deezer, it is so much better for the same money. Outstanding sound quality at Deezer
