[MacOS] Desktop app crashing, Home page not loading

We've received reports from Mac users that the desktop app crashes and the Home page refuses to load - an error message "Something went wrong" is displayed instead.

 

This is being investigated.

I have the same issue here. It started after update to Sonoma iOS.

Issue
Once the desktop app is open, it loads for some time and shows the "Something went wrong" error message. Home screen never show up. This issue started after updating to the latest version of Spotify. I never faced this issue with the previous version of Spotify for macOS (Apple Silicon) 1.2.20.1218.

I have already tried the 'clean reinstall' and 'check host file' solutions suggested in the other threads, but had no luck. Can you please quickly look into this issue and provide me a solution?

Spotify 1.2.21.1104.g42cf0a50 for Apple Silicon

 

This only happens in the Spotify app. On the web player (Microsoft Edge dev) everything is displayed correctly. So I think it is not a problem with my internet service provider but due to the app itself. A clean reinstall could not improve the situation for me. I hope it will be fixed in the next update.

I have the same issue, desktop Spotify was working fine before upgrading to macOS Sonoma.

Have tried all the solutions mentioned but definitely believe that bu1ka has found the technical issue behind it:

Troubleshooting so far: I've done both a normal and clean uninstall (as suggested by a previous comment). I've made sure my VPN is off and I've tried different network connections. The web-based Spotify correctly displays the home page, it's only the mac app that is showing "something is wrong".

I attempated to clear the folders related Spotify but couldn't find one under 'Cache' or 'Application Support''

I also tried do clean reinstall but the same issue still persist.
