Podcast episodes showing as unplayed

Hey, 

 

We're seeing reports that finished podcast episodes are showing as unplayed.

Great news - everything should be working as expected now! Just make sure that your app is updated to the latest version.

I have had the same problem for the last days, my whole list of previously listened episodes is gone, no green checkmarks appearing on my list anymore.

The same thing is happening to me on my macbook pro desktop spotify app! super frustrating because now I don't know where I am in all of my podcasts! The app on my iphone is fine though for some reason and still have everything marked as finished. If i try to mark something as finished on my desktop app, the checkmark will disappear after a while.

Sounds like I'm having the same issue as all the other folks.  I have noticed for a little while now that my episodes marked as played have not been syncing between Android app and desktop.  Today I noticed all podcasts on desktop no longer have them marked as played.

  • If the issue persists across multiple platforms (Web Player, desktop app, mobile app etc.): PC only. Android phone app works fine but has not been recognizing episodes I marked as played from desktop app.
  • The affected podcasts: ALL

I'm dealing with the same issue on my desktop client, running in Windows 10. So far Spotify's support gave me standard answers from their troubleshooting guide which were of no help at all.

I am also having same issue on my Lenovo laptop.  Although all my episodes are marked as played on my Spotify app on my iPhone?

Having this same issue too on all podcasts on the desktop app in Windows 11. It works fine on the Android app.
