Premium users hearing ads in music

We've received reports that active Premium users are hearing ads interrupting their music listening experience.

Our tech teams are still investigating these reports. However, we'll need to request some further clarification to continue with the investigation.

Be sure to let us know exactly:

• What were you listening to? If it's a playlist, what playlist was it?
• Timestamp of when it occurred

Screen recordings of the issue will come in handy to our teams as well. As previously mentioned, should the files be too large to attach here in the Community, you can send them to us as unlisted YouTube videos or via Google Drive. Just make sure it doesn't include any personal info.

In my case it happened when I listen the podcast "Porretcast". It Doesn't happens in other podcast. 

I have a Huawei P30 the only device I have this problem.

I just recieved ads before and after a podcast called " Sprechstunde" and "Hobbylos". Music is not affected.  device : s24 ultra and lenovo tab p12 pro

Hearing adds on all podcasts for few days with premium duo.

@Novy In my case, it happens ALWAYS when listening to any podcast. The specific one doesn't make any difference.
As reported by others, music is not affected.
Plus, I have the problem only on the app, not on the laptop.

And the app details were shared previously.

Thanks everyone for confirming. Although Spotify doesn’t play ads for Premium users when listening to music, some podcasts may include advertising, host-read endorsements, or sponsorship messages, for both Free and Premium subscribers. 

Where there may be confusion is when listening to a playlist like Daily Drive, as that can contain both Music and Podcasts. Therefore you may hear an ad during the playback of that playlist during a podcast. 

@provingground do you hear Ads with Podcasts or with Music? Everyone else has confirmed they hear them with Podcasts. If you do hear them with Music, can you specify what you were listening to, and ideally share a screen recording and timestamp of when it occurred, thank you.

@Loneliest_Cabin I am not sure that it is my case, because it behaves differently between phone (hearing ads) and laptop (not hearing them), while playing the same podcast, as I only listen to that one podcast.
If what you say is the case, I would hear them on the laptop as well, right?

Moreover, the podcast is Italian and the ads are not, so I don't think that the sponsorship or whatever else comes into the game.

EDIT: I am keeping a long lasting podcast execution from my laptop, no ads. As it was before the issue even from the app...

Thanks for the patience while this was being investigated!

We have good news from our teams - a fix for the instances where Premium users noticed ads when listening to music has been deployed and you should notice a difference right away.

It's worth keeping in mind, however, that it is expected that both free & Premium users may still see ads when listening to podcasts.

I have updated the app and the issue is still present. Should I open a new thread?

I mean, I expect apps to behave consistently between platforms: why should I hear ads from the phone and not from the laptop?
