Fire TV app turns off after 20 minutes

I downloaded an update for the Fire TV app today, and ever since, the Spotify app turns off after 20 mins.

This appears to be because the Fire TV stick doesn't recognise that the Spotify app is running, as it displays stock images/screensaver after 5 minutes, then switches off entirely after 20 minutes. This is what the Fire Stick does when it's not in use while the TV is on, so it's almost like it doesn't "know" the Spotify app is running.

The sound is not affected until the switch-off at 20 mins. This has only happened since the update, so maybe it's something to do with that? The Fire TV app can be a little bit buggy, but nothing like this has happened before.

LOL I am so glad that other people have this same problem.  I literally bought a new firestick (was meaning to anyway) and was aghast that it didn't solve the problem!  I too tried the "show lyrics" and it did not work for me.

We are just going to have to remember to click a button on the remote every 15 minutes for now.

As everyone else has stated, this started happening after the latest Spotify update. I have two Fire TV sticks and the issue happens on both. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared the cache… all the usuals and nothing has helped. This is on Spotify to fix, I just hope they take this seriously and release a fix soon!

I've just started with this same problem the past few says but it is turning off my Sony Bravia TV and I don't have a firestick. Anybody else experiencing this?

Le même problème est déjà arrivé avec Deezer/Firestick il y a 5 ans et ça a nécessité une intervention de leur part. https://fr.deezercommunity.com/autres-appareils-35/amazon-fire-tv-stick-et-deezer-1090. J'ai aussi le problème depuis une récente mise à jour (pause après 20 minutes) Firestick/Spotify. Ça fait 2 jours que je cherche et essaie différentes solutions proposées sur internet. Bien hâte que ce soit corrigé.

Une nouvelle  mise à jour est disponible sur la télé ce matin !! 20 juin 2023. Bien hâte de voir ce que ça va donner !

La dernière mise à jour du 20 juin n'a rien changé... à 21 minutes, ça retombe en veille.. Mais en affichant les paroles, ça donne un signal d'activité et ça fonctionne (en attendant).

I am sooooooo glad I found this thread because I have been doing everything I can think of to fix it myself (all the things memtioned above). A PAIN to deal with but happy to know it’s not me!!

Spotify is playing like usual this morning. I’ve not had to remember to interact with Spotify every 15 minutes to prevent it from shutting down. Has anyone else noticed this? I sure hope this means it’s fixed for good and fixed for everyone!
