My Question or Issue
Recently (just noticed today) that any of my Alex Multi-Room music groups that contain an Echo Link Amp device no longer show up and can't be played to from Spotify. Groups that do NOT contain an Echo Link work, and individual Echo Links work just fine.
I can create a new Multi-Room group with just Echo devices, works fine. As soon as I add an Echo Link device, it vanishes and won't play.
I've seen reports on Reddit about this, but wanted to make sure you were aware.

@cnolan2: Your devices updated? What devices? You mentioned Spotify v 8.8.94. That's an app version update, not a device update. What are you referring to when you say your "devices auto-updated". Are you referring to your Echo devices that got updated?
Yes, the app updated. I have no idea if that was what prompted things to start working again. I just noticed that they happen to roll out an app update today as well so I thought I'd mention it. Could have just been a coincidence. Or perhaps the issue was connected to some kind of problem with the app.
I checked my echo amps and their version did not change. They are still running the same software version ending in 2804.
I'm not seeing the same thing as you. I did see that there was an app update for Spotify. I went ahead and upgraded and I'm currently on the same app version as you. However, back in my Alexa app, when I create a speaker group without my Echo Link (just using my other Echo devices) and can play to it on Spotify. But once I go in and modify the speaker group by adding in my Echo Link it then disappears from Spotify. From my perspective, it's still not working.
One more thing I noticed, if I go in to the Alexa app and then remove the Echo Link from the group, then it does magically appear back in the Spotify app. So that's somewhat better, but still not perfect.
Hi. The same for me. Its still not working, adding the echo link to the multiroom. I am using the android spotify app version 8.8.92.700
So maybe a point of clarification could help narrow it down.
I’m working with 4 Echo Link amps (as opposed to just Echo Link) and 3 Echos (1 Echo controls all Link amps and the other two Echos). The main Echo and 4 Link supply music to 5 rooms (via hard wired ceiling speakers and stereo for main Echo).
My indoor and everywhere group works as it should now.
Just trying to clarify if it’s a Link vs Link Amp issue now.
I have one Echo Link Amp. I also have one Echo Studio, and a handful of Echo Dot's, and two Echo Show's.
So if there IS a difference between Echo Link and Echo Link Amp, then the bad news is that (at least for me) it's NOT working with my Echo Link Amp.
I'm using an Echo Link Amp.
I thought it wasn't working for both the regular AND amps.
After much back and forth with the Spotify Twitter account my issue has been resolved. I don’t know what they did to fix it but it is working just fine now.
You have the link Amp?
anynidea what they did or what we can ask them to do?
I updated the Spotify app on my iPhone, recreated the Alexa speaker group with my 2 Echo Links in, and it now works. Thanks Spotify.
I think that those of us who usr android are having the problem, because there has not been any spotify update on android platform yet. Can someone confirm this?
Still not working for me.
@ch12345 - Are you using Echo Link or Echo Link Amp?
Is anyone having success with the Echo Link Amp devices?
Also, iOS vs Android shouldn't matter; as you can do this from the Alexa app directly, no need for the Spotify mobile app.
I have an Echo Link Amp and it's still not working for me.
Echo link amp here and it is working for me! Thank you Spotify
Really strange; it started working yesterday - then stopped working today.
Wonder if they are in the process of rolling something out on their servers.
Hey there folks,
We've checked backstage with Amazon and they want to investigate this from their end, so please reach out to them here, should you still experience issues.
Take care!
Reaching out to Amazon has not been helpful in the past. It would be much more effective if you would be able to hook some affected users up with the support folks directly.
