My Question or Issue
I have never had issues watching videos on Spotify but for some reason they have recently stopped.
I can’t watch any videos or podcasts.
I’ve checked all the audio quality settings etc and cannot understand why they aren’t working any longer.
I'm from Nigeria and video podcasts isn't working for me do you it's a location based problem?
I'm also having issues viewing the video even with multiple screen refreshing or trying to watch via app or web browser. I usually listen audio-only on my phone but if I want video I'll use my Chromebook. I can view video fine on my phone but it's been problematic to do this on my chromebook. I ensure the app is completely shut down on my phone and also tried streaming it over but in both cases I cannot get video.

The video podcast was working fine previously until the the recent changed layout of the app
so idk if location restrictions were updated then unfortunately ? (Saudi)
i tried clearing my cache deleting the app resetting
signing out and logging in
tried on my laptop
my friends´ aren’t working too now

Thanks for posting here and for the info shared.
In this case, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there?
On another note, it'd be really helpful if you could send us a more detailed description of what's happening on your side. Please send us as many details as possible. Does the video load but never plays? Keep in mind not all podcasts contain video.
Lastly, it'd be great if you sent us a short video recording of what you're experiencing, so we can better visualize what you're mentioning. You can attach the video in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and make it public, so we can watch it.
It might be worth asking the friends who are also having issues to post here in this thread, so we can help them to investigate further. They can send us the above info, and we'll help as best as we can.

I have been not been able to watch videos on my premium account for months. I have tried all the solutions mentioned on this thread. I also tried to create another account to see if videos work and they do so it's not a device issue.
1-reinstalling the app
2-clear the cache and retry
3-activate and deactivate stream audio only setting
4-activate and deactivate download audio only
5-Downloaded the podcast while "download audio only is OFF".
My device is an Apple 13 pro max iOs version 17.4.1. I have also tried watching my my laptop and same issue no video.
The podcast I am trying to watch is Call Her Daddy and The Joe Rogan Experience.
Kindly help.

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community.
Kudos for the troubleshooting! What you can also try is to log out and then log back in to your account twice in a row on your devices. This will trigger a sync between your account and devices.
However if this doesn't do the trick, based on what you mentioned, it sounds like the issue is account-related. In this case, even though we know it's not ideal, you mentioned on the new account you created everything works well so you can cancel your subscription on your current account and then transfer your content to the new one and re-subscribe there. Afterwards, you'll be able to close the old account to avoid any future mix-ups. If you decide to do this, you will lose your listening history.
We understand if you don't want to do this, in that case we suggest that you keep the app and device up to date for any possible improvements in the future.

I am using the Spotify App, but was able to solve this by going to help, troubleshooting, disabling the hardware acceleration, and restarting.

I have been watching Shannon Beveridge’s podcast and noticed that all of a sudden they no longer have video not even led ones that I have already watched.
Hi-- my video podcasts aren't playing on my iphone. They were working just fine and then just stopped. It works on my laptop so I'm not sure what the issue is. I have deleted the app and reinstalled and tried a few of the above things but it doesn't work.

I have the same issue with an android 14 and the 8.9.60.560 version of Spotify. I am in Canada and used to watch the video podcast normally with everything working. I travelled recently and tried to download some podcasts episodes (ncis off duty) and since then no video is working. All podcasts all devices even the web version. I've tried everything on this forum and still nothing.
And yes I also have updated my location for it to indicate canada. I have even tried restarting my devices now that I'm back in Canada
I can’t get any of the video podcasts to work on iOS app
I keep getting the 'playback failed' message when I'm trying to watch or listen to video podcasts. This happens both on data and WiFi. I have logged out, cleared the cashe, deleted and reinstalled the app but nothing has fixed the issue.

My Question or Issue
I was previously able to watch video podcasts but upon upgrading to a premium duo plan I no longer have the option to play video and all podcasts play audio only. When opening spotify in an incognito window without logging in I get the option to play video, but logging in removes the option and makes it look like the podcast does not have any video. This is happening to both members of the duo plan on multiple devices. I also have a family member with a regular premium plan who has the option to watch video podcasts.
