My Question or Issue

When listening offline to downloaded music using detached watch only (e.g. out for a run) music playback is fine but audiobook playback stutters and skips to the point of being unusable.

Maybe audiobooks are encoded differently or there is extra logic in operation, but it basically doesn't work.

If you haven't tried this already, I'd recommend starting off with a reinstall of the app on both the watch and your phone, as well as re-pairing them afterwards. Another thing you can do is lowering the audio download quality in the app's settings and downloading the audiobook again afterwards to see if that makes a difference. 

In case you have another pair of headphones, it'd be great if you can test out if the same thing happens with them as well just to rule out any Bluetooth connectivity issues. Can you also confirm if the downloaded audiobook continues to stutter if your phone is alongside your watch the whole time you're listening to it?
