Changing credit card

Solved!

Changing credit card

Hi there

I have recently had to change my credit card. How do I alter my details so that my Spotify account isn't cancelled?

I had to take the risk of cancelling and then signing back up to premium! Fortunately I didn’t lose any of my playlists or saved music but I wasn’t sure when I did it. Ridiculous!!

I'm trying to unerstand how people have had this issue since 2013 and it's 2018 and the problem persists. I can't change my card info either. And I don't think spotify cares to fix their little (big) glitch....

I cannot change the credit card information. Following the steps but by clicking on "update" the credit card information does not allow any change. What is the work around here?

Amazing that this kind issue cannot be resolved. Apparently Spotify doesn't really care if customers are able to update their payment information the easy way.

I decided to go back to free version, not worth wasting my time with this.

I agree with some queries in this thread: the system does not allow you to change credit card information if your card was lost or stolen. After duly clicking on "Update" the same window appears. This is a serious glitch that spotify has to address or they'll lose customers. I have to go through the cancel-and-resubscribe hassle now. Not sure it is worth it.

You have to cancel and re-subscribe. I was a bit nervous about losing playlists but it worked!

This is so annoying. I want to change my credit card details. I have accessed the subscription  page according to the "help" I received from the Spotify system but there is no option to update my credit card. In other words, the "help" is incorrect. I don't have hours to spend on this, trying to work out how to give Spotify my money for my premium service. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER SPOTIFY!

I am in the same situaiton - needing to change my cc details. I do not see the options you indicate when I go to the subscriptions page.

Please help,

y'all can keep trying to charge my old card and i'll continue to get free premium if you guys dont update this mess. why does spotify have the most barebones, barely working functions of all the premium music apps but still get the most audience share? SMDH

Solving the same problem and I agree it sucks!

This page is what I've been trying to use to change my card info. There are no links that bring you to actually remove the previous card and add the new one without changing the subscription...seemingly at least. Would like to use my Spotify that I DO have money for.

It's so bizarre. Some Product Managers at Spotify could easily bump up revenue just by prioritizing and fixing this one bug. I'm stubbornly holding off on paying for Spotify Premium until I can verify that ANYONE at Spotify actually reads these comments and passes them along to Developers.

WHAT ELSE DO WE HAVE TO DO TO GET YOUR ATTENTION TO FIX THIS BUG, SPOTIFY?

I tried to follow these steps to change my credit card info for my subscription, but when I get to step 3 and hit 'update', the button doesn't work. It doesn't redirect me to the page that should allow me to change my payment info.

  1. Log in to your account page
  2. Select Subscription in the menu on the left.
  3. Under Payment details, click UPDATE.
  4. Choose your payment method at the top and fill in the details.
  5. Click CHANGE PAYMENT DETAILS to confirm.

Hello I've attempted to change my debit card payment online but when I click the Update button under the payment method the page just refreshes. It doesn't take me to a new page to enter new card information. I've tried this on the phone and computer using Chrome and Internet Explorer but nothing happens just the page refreshes.

That's exactly whats happening to me.

Hey everyone,

If it's giving you problems, it's better to delete your payment info instead of updating. You will still be Premium until the remaining days of your subscription are used up:

1. Go to your Subscription page.

2. Click UPDATE under Payment Info. If it shows below 'Would you like to cancel your subscription?' click there and cancel.

3. Check the box to 'Remove', and click 'Change' button,

Note: If you have your Premium active you won't be able to remove your payment info. That's why it's important to cancel before removing your payment info.

After you've removed your payment info, resubscribe to Premium with the new card info to ensure that your offline music won't be deleted and that your subscription will renew correctly when it's time.

Please remember, your new payment card country must match your country in profile, and the country of your IP address.

Hope it helps. 🙂

The problem with my situation is the UPDATE button. It doesn't take me
anywhere to delete the payment option or change it. The age just refreshes
after I click UPDATE under the payment option.

I have been trying to update my credit card details for over a week, however the website will not allow me to do so.  When I click on the update button on the subscription page it just redisplays the same screen.

no option to change credit card or modify details on subscription page.  when i click on update it only refreshes the page.  i guess i will have to cancel and choose another provider that will let me pay them

My card was lost so all accounts shut down until a new card sent.  I have been trying to enter a new card and nothing works like these pages ask of you.  Why can't you guys just change it so normal people can enter a card?  All I can see is to let my sub expire and resub up.  There are so many other services why would you guys not want to fix this problem.  If I end up going to another service I am not coming back.  It seems you don't care about even giving us something back for our loyalty.  If you aren't loyal why should we be?
