My Question or Issue
Won't let me upgrade from premium to duo no matter what I do. Why?

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and welcome.
To make sure we're on the same page, are you changing your subscription directly from the app? If not, we'd recommend opening the Spotify app > Settings > Premium plan > See available plans. If the issue persists, we'd also recommend trying from another device, using your own account to see if it makes any difference. Keep in mind that if you're using Google Play Billing to pay for your subscription, you can only change the plan using the same payment method.
In case you're receiving any error messages, include in your next response the screenshot with the error so we can take a better look.

Hey, Whenever anyone follows your stupid instructions, the spotify app asks to open the spotify app and change subscription from there BUT IM ALREADY IN YOUR ... APP I WANT TO CHANGE MY PLAN AND I WANT TO DO THAT WITHOUT FU CANCELLING MY CURRENT MEMBERSHIP, AND STARTING A NEW ONE. WHIC SEEMS LIKE THE ONLY OPTION

Are you subscribed through a partner company (ex. your phone or internet provider) or via Google Play Billing? If so, I'm afraid you'd have to first cancel your current subscription and wait for your account to revert to the free version of Spotify. After that, you can select another plan as normal.
In case you were trying to change your subscription through the app on your iPhone, try doing so from your browser instead by logging in on your account page - that should do the trick.

Spotify has to do something about this. It shouldn't be this difficult to change plans on android.
Cancel plans, then wait till it reverts to free!
I can't imagine how many people have decided at the end not to buy premium again.
Just embarrassing... Spotify, company valued billions with thousands of developers can't solve this bug. It least show clear message at the app that says that if you pay via Google pay you can't upgrade the plan (which is embarrassing to admit so you developers decided to return empty array of options...)
