Keeping separate libraries on duo

My son and I live at the same address and both have premium accounts. I'd like to combine them into a duo subscription. Will we both keep our existing libraries and histories? If someone leaves a duo account and goes back onto an individual premium or student subscription (I e. When my son goes to uni) do they take their library with them?

Short answer: Yes and yes 🙂 

Each member of a Premium Family or Duo plan still uses their own account. The library, which includes playlists, saved music, etc. is not bound to any subscription, since Free users can use those features as well.
