I am struggling to change to a basic plan because i don't listen to audio books, however i don't the option anywhere, and i don't think i have ever bought a basic plan before so i am not sure what to do

I joined Spotify Premium in November 2024 and have listened to audiobooks in the past, but am happy to do without them but cannot see the Basic plan mentioned.

Thanks for joining the conversation!
Keep in mind that, in order to be eligible for a Basic plan, you need to have been on a recurring Premium subscription before the Basic plan was launched in your country. If you're not seeing it as an option to switch to, it means your account is not eligible for this subscription.

Been told to post here by an advisor.
as a loyal customer of 10 years I switched from basic to premium to trial the audiobooks. I discovered I do not use them and want to change back.
The advisors on chat have confirmed no emails have been sent to warn users or information while switching to premium from basic to let me know that the change is irreversible.
The only place this is stated is hidden in the T&C’s of the Basic website which of course users do not read everyday!
Very upset and considering leaving due to the lack of communication on this matter and feel robbed of the extra money as I wouldn’t have trialled premium if I couldn’t get my basic account back 😞
