Unable to change country / payment plan

Unable to change country / payment plan

Hello,

 

I now live in Thailand, but my Spotify account still is set to USA.  I tried to change my country, but it wouldn't let me, so I went to the Spotify help forums and followed instructions.  I tried to change my payment country to Thailand, no luck.  I tried to change my payment method to my Thai bank card.  No luck.  Spotify is simply not letting me change to Thailand.  How can I do this, considering I live here and use cards here.

We'd first recommend making sure that your payment method meets all these requirements.

 

If everything's in order with your payment method, you can give it a try from this page using an incognito window or a different device. 

 

If you're still having issues, we'd suggest reaching out to our Support team here. They'll be happy to assist you further and check your account to see what might be happening.

I am having the same issue with changing my country from Germany to Australia. It does not work in any browser, not in incognito mode, a different machine or on a mobile.

 

This bug manifests in the following way:

1. Click on "Account overview" 

2. Click on "Update" under "Payment"

3. It provides a list of payment options; click on "Change country" (See screenshot 1)

4. Select "Australia"

5. It goes back to the previous screen but all the payment options are gone and there is no "submit" or "ok" button (see screenshot 2)

6. It is also not possible to change to an Australian credit card as it returns with an error saying something like: your credit card does not match your country

 

This bug possibly affects every Spotify user trying to change their country settings. Please make fixing this a priority.

Thanks for your post.

 

If nothing works, you might want to cancel your current subscription and wait until your account goes on free. After that you can change the country on your Profile to Australia. Once that's done you can subscribe again using your Australian card.
