My Question or Issue:
When I click on the plus button to adjust what playlist(s) a song is saved in, I am able to complete my changes but very frequently the changes are not saved or applied to the song. This is a newer issue, now that there is no "save changes" button to click on. I have many playlists categorized by time & genre, so many of my songs go in more than one playlist, which has suddenly become an issue with this update. In addition, when I am adding a song to other playlists, I am unable to remove the song from a playlist at the same time when I used to be able to do all of this with one step. Now the only way to remove a song is to use specifically the "remove from this playlist" button.

Ok. The bug where songs are not saved is fixed. But, still a bad experience ! I use folders to sort my playlists. When a song is added to a playlist that is in a folder, it dont show as before on top of the menu. I have to enter in my folders to see, on top of them, the playlist(s) where the song was added. In the old UI, the menu showed all playlists where the song was added, even if the playlists are part of a folder.
I really dont understand why your devs has replaced the old UI for this sh... !
3 days or so, the save button reappeared again.. was great. But now its just gone again.. so the issue is not resolved.
Not only has there been no fix, you broke the menu even further by hiding the playlists which a song is added to inside their folders. I made a new topic and will continue to do so until we get a resolution.
Same as I said 3 days ago. The playlists which a song is added are hidden, but not hidden in the folder if you goes in them. Totally useless, the playlists should be displayed on top of the main menu like before.
Can you provide the link to the new topic ?
I will keep posting until some moderator will come to aid, but without the reinstall app standard answer. This hole tread was about out of the blue ui downgrades, where alot of bad decisions about how songs are saved on onto playlist are working. As tread grew it finally got resolved back, but only lastes 3 days, and now the “save” button for songs to be added arent there anymore… again…. This tread is highlighted as resolved, but it isnt. It was breifly, but then it went back to bad again. And furher reports of actually worse then bad, since new ui madness is added. Can we please get some proper response?????????? Thanks
Just bring back the "Done" button and show all the playlists the song is added to under the search bar. Please. We're not asking for much.
They closed it.
Oscar, please do something.. you closed this tread because it was resolved.. but aprox 3 days later the “save” button was removed again, and is yet to reappear. So as of now, it is useless to add songs to playlist, as the dragdown mini fan, does not work..
how can spotify do this??? change it back after massive userfeedback, and then change it again to uselessness.. where is the quality control????
This still hasn’t come back for me. I’ve done a few clean installs, tried both the beta and non-beta versions, and nothing works. Every time I add or remove a song, I still have to check every folder and playlist manually. The new playlist option at the top and bottom is unnecessary.
I think we need to make a new thread, yes?
Hi,
For months now, adding and removing songs from playlists on Spotify has been a complete nightmare. Spotify removed the clear all and done buttons. Before, removing a song showed every playlist it was in on one screen, and I could just click clear all and done.
Ever since those buttons were removed, there’s also a new playlist option both at the top and bottom of the screen when adding a song. This is completely unnecessary — why have the same option twice?
Now, to remove a song, I have to swipe back multiple times, go into every single folder, and check every playlist manually to make sure it’s actually removed. Adding a song is just as bad — I have to swipe back multiple times, click into every folder, check every playlist, and often repeat multiple attempts because it doesn’t save properly. What used to take a few seconds now takes minutes every single time. It’s infuriating and completely unnecessary.
I’ve seen posts on Reddit — some people have this problem, some don’t, and a few say the clear all and done buttons came back for them. Clearly, this is affecting a lot of users, and some have even left Spotify over it. I’m very close to doing the same.
I’ve contacted Spotify three times about this, and they still can’t give me an answer. Can anyone at Spotify tell me if the clear all and done buttons are actually coming back?
This issue is incredibly frustrating, slows everything down, and turns a task that used to take seconds into a multi-minute chore every single time.
Hey folks,
We appreciate your feedback on this!
We're investigating the behavior of playlists inside folders not showing up under the "Saved in" section of the "Add to playlist" menu in this thread, check it out.
Cheers 🤘
Cool. Are we just ignoring the other problem about songs not saving still, or what?
