My Question or Issue:
When I click on the plus button to adjust what playlist(s) a song is saved in, I am able to complete my changes but very frequently the changes are not saved or applied to the song. This is a newer issue, now that there is no "save changes" button to click on. I have many playlists categorized by time & genre, so many of my songs go in more than one playlist, which has suddenly become an issue with this update. In addition, when I am adding a song to other playlists, I am unable to remove the song from a playlist at the same time when I used to be able to do all of this with one step. Now the only way to remove a song is to use specifically the "remove from this playlist" button.
Hi there @epicsounds,
Thanks for reaching out. We appreciate the feedback and will gladly help you get the changes to save reliably.
When editing playlists, do the changes not save only on the Android app or on other devices too? And judging by the description, does this happen sporadically or is there some sort of noticeable pattern? As a start, consider performing a clean reinstall if you haven't already to get the app in it's usual state again. That should help get the changes to apply properly.
Hope this helps.
Same issue here. And I'm not gonna do a clean reinstall and lose my settings and downloads just because of your stupid broken update no one asked for.

My Question or Issue
As the title says. When e.g. I add a song to playlists A, B and C and remove it from playlist D, it will only add it to playlists A and do none of the other actions. This issue started to appear on sunday. Since playlists are the main way I use Spotify this feels horrendous.
Hey there @zeerid_korr,
Thanks for posting here in the Community and welcome.
We could not replicate this behavior on our side. In that sense, we'd recommend you perform a clean reinstall of the app on the affected device, to make sure you're running the latest version available and that the stored cache is not leading to any issues.
Note: Keep in mind that clean reinstalling the app will remove the content you've downloaded to listen to offline.
If issues persist, we'd like to gather some additional info. Please send us:
Keep us in the loop!
Oh I forgot to add, I've cleaned the cache, logged in and out and reinstalled the app. Nothing is working.
The spotify version is the latest: 9.0.82.1032
I will check later in the day if this happens on other devices as well.
I can also send a video later in the day
I've had the same issue, and it seems to be connected to the Back ← button.
If you have navigated to another folder, checked a named playlist, then you click Back (to exit the folder hierarchy), then the check seems to be removed, and the track not saved.
As a workaround, you CAN add a song to another playlist, but after checking a playlist, you have to swipe the drawer down to finish the flow and it will save. The problem with this is that if you wanted to add it to 2 or more playlists, is you have to repeat the entire "add to other playlist" flow multiple times.
Absolutely a bug, and I lost a load of awesome songs this week because of this! 😭
Hi folks,
Thanks for joining the thread and for the details you shared!
We were also able to reproduce this on our end and have passed the info on to our tech folks for further investigation. We'll let you know as soon as we hear back from them and have any news to share, but in the meantime, make sure you're always running the latest version of Spotify so you don't miss out on any updates.
The Community is always here if something else comes up.
In a recent update, at least on Android, when adding a song to a playlist from the song label/song playing menu, rather than pulling up an add playlist menu with a done/confirm button it now has a swipe up/down add playlist menu. I have found that the usage of this new menu is finicky in terms of whether it actually saves the song to the playlists you select and doesn't leave any confirmation of their addition.
This is in addition to being harder to quickly/fluidly move from the add playlist menu back to the playing song.
I would propose re-adding the done button to make it more consistent in confirming one's playlist selection.
Hello! I'm having this exact same issue. I click "Add to other playlists" button, the 'Saved in' list appears, I check all the playlists I want to add the song to, slide down the 'Saved in' list (which supposedly means the song should be Saved on all the playlists I selected) and when I click on the green check for the song, it was never added to any of the selected playlists or maybe added to half of them. The same also happens when I start the process by clicking on the green check instead of "Add to other playlists."
I deleted all my downloads, cleared the cache, clean uninstalled the app, restarted phone, installed app again and this issue persists.
Additionally, before this update, adding a song to several playlists was already a very imperfect, frustrating and slow process because the App insisted on loading all of the playlists from the servers for the process to work. Otherwise, it would take minutes for you to navigate and select the playlists and you'd get a "Sorry, something went wrong" error after hitting 'Done' because the playlists were not sufficiently loaded I guess (see screenshot***, see that "Surfing" playlist was not loaded with song number and artwork, so the error popped up when I was clicking 'Done'). I understand that error may have been the issue this update was trying to fix by removing the 'Done' button, but now the songs are not adding the playlists at all or you have to repeat the process several times to make sure the song is added to the playlists. The underlying issue here is that we're paying for an "offline" service, but every time we re-open the app, it has to reload all of your saved content from the servers again and again.
***I clarify that the screenshot attached is for a previous "Add to playlist" error related to this one. The main bug discussed in this thread is better displayed on a screengrab video, but my device does not have that feature.
So about an hour ago I was logged out multiple times. After logging in again I had what I think was the old playlist adding screen, with a green "Done" button and everything was working as before again. Then after about 15 minutes I was logged out again. I didn't try adding or removing any songs after that until now, which made me realize that I have the old swipe up and down adding screen, without the green "Done" button and now I have the same bug again.
