Resetting Discover Weekly?

Resetting Discover Weekly?

Any way we can reset Discover Weekly seeds?

Or maybe update your algorithm for suggestions?

Every week my Discover Weekly is filled with synthpop or sounds of fax machine having an orgasm labeled as dubstep. Or some incredibly repetitive annoying prog rock.

The artists sound all the same and suggestions never improve.

I've been listening to Spotify since 2012 and listen to a very wide variety of music Spotifly's Discovery Weekly only suggests garbage.

It's like it thinks that every week I want to get a fresh dose of Blade Runner wannabe soundtrack made by a fetus with a keyboard, or someone noodling on a guitar string.

Discovery Weekly is a great idea but it needs to be improved, please at least add some sort of a way to change suggestion seeds for more variety.

I agree, it's just horrible. I get now for weeks only soft piano music in my weekly discovery. I hide all of them and excluded a tone of those playlists from tast profile. But I still get piano music and nothing else. Only because my kids used it for sleeping.

If weekly discovery starts to be **bleep** show, the best argument for Spotify is gone and I will finally move to Youtube Music. As I anyway already pay for Youtube Premium.

Having exactly the same problem. For two weeks now Discover Weekly has been back to back soft piano instrumentals.

Its so dissapointing that Spotify do not seem to get past the "Amazon.com toilette seat problem" (you buy a toilette seat from Amazon and get subsequently bombarded by product suggestions for .... toilette seats).  If its not possible to improve the algorithm, then at least include simple reset button for the Discover Weekly.

I have a family account and my weekly discover playlist just contains kids stuff. I curate my account carefully - no kids stuff in any playlist, favorite songs, artists etc. even my recently played list shows only my indie music stuff. But all the suggestion are kids songs and audiobooks only. My account is even the "main" account and all the others are family members. Any idea

SOLVED, I THINK: I did two things:

(a) I used the minus icon to unlike all the songs in my Discover Weekly playlist that, er, I didn't like

(b) I played playlists that I liked for a few days, including overnight with the volume down.

After the first week there wasn't much of a difference, but after doing that again, Discover Weekly was totally different.

Looks like brute force is the answer.
