Sharing Playlist Folders

Sharing Playlist Folders

Hiya,
I am an author who has curated 30 different playlists for the 30 chapters of my book. They are in a playlist folder and I am wondering how best to share this with my readers so it is easy to find.

Thanks

Hey @BrookeyD,

Playlist folders are currently private and only you as the creator can access them. So in your case you'll have to share the playlists individually from the three dots menu > Share.

There's this idea about making playlist folders public so you can share them with others, which you may find interesting, so feel free to check it out and show your support by giving it a thumbs up - that way it has a better chance of being considered!

The Community is always here if something else comes up in the meantime.

Take care!

this is kind of ridiculous don't you think? you can share unlimited playlists, but not a group of playlists, that you've decided are related in some way.

can you please prioritize this???? the people literally NEED it.

Yes we need to be able to share playlist folders

yes absolutely; some playlists only make sense within a folder I just realized, making this feature all the more mandatory. The others before me have said it already; we need that feature like ASAP

I just made a folder of playlists consisting of albums that I would like to share with my partner. Please help us to play our favourite albums.

I'm doing the same thing, keying playlists to chapters, and have a particular concern. The versions of tunes I find on Spotify are frequently not the best exemplars of that tune, in my opinion. I have my own copies which I have purchased over the years but they do not appear on Spotify. Is there some way to get them on Spotify, to get the owners of those tunes to post them? Some of these groups have disbanded so contacting them may be difficult. Thoughts?

Thx. Arvett

Hey there @Sharer

Thanks for getting in touch about this and welcome to the Community.

If you have the audio files legally stored on your device, you can use the app to play them. You just need to follow these steps.

Hope this helps. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.

Thank you Eni. But can I have them in a publicly available playlist to be accessed by readers?

Matt

Thanks for returning with this question @Sharer.

The way that local files work is a bit different in comparison to music from Spotify's library.

As mentioned, the files need to be physically stored on the specific devices in order to be playable, so unless other users also have them on their devices, they won't be able to play them. Also worth mentioning is that the local files folder is private and is only visible to you. If you have local files added to some of your public playlists, others will be able to see them, but not play them.

There's a similar Idea here which you'd probably like and you can vote for it in order to show your support.

Hope this info helps clear things up and we're here if there's anything else you're wondering about šŸ™‚
