Apple CarPlay issues

 

Plan: Premium

Country:US

 

Device: iPhone 10

Operating System: iOS 12.1.4

 

My 2017 Audi A4 has Apple CarPlay. A few times a week, when attempting to use the CarPlay interface to start Spotify, the app shows three tabs, but never populates the data. I also get the error:

Unable to connect to “(null)”

 

The app will not work unless I unplug the cable and reconnect the phone. Sometimes it takes 5 or more times before the app will populate the data.

 

What is interesting is that Spotify will continue to play music from my playlist and let me advance songs, even though the app shows blank. 

 

This is has been going on for over a year but I was too lazy to submit this until today.    🙂
