Broken Queue Function ipad ios

Broken Queue Function ipad ios

Ipad iOs, Premium, NZ

Many issues since April this year.

* Adding one song from a playlist adds the whole playlist.

* The Clear Queue button disappears.

* Current Queued songs disappear after playing a song from another playlist. Replaced by the other playlist.

* Adding a shuffled playlist to the queue causes the playlist to play unshuffled. The new shuffle/reshuffle buttons in the queue don’t work.

Hey there, @h4040,

Thanks for reaching out.

I believe most of these are simply how the play queue normally behaves. For example, the 'Clear queue' button will only be present if you have songs that you've manually added via "add to queue". Such songs will be indicated with a green "queue" icon next to the artist's name.

Two songs have been manually added to the queue. Two songs have been manually added to the queue.

Current Queued songs disappear after playing a song from another playlist. Replaced by the other playlist.

This also sounds like expected behavior. Note that if you have manually added songs to the queue via the "add to queue option", those will be preserved. However, by starting another playlist, you're essentially telling Spotify to overwrite the remaining tracks with the ones from the new playlist. If you want to keep them, you can manually add them to the queue.

Adding a shuffled playlist to the queue causes the playlist to play unshuffled. The new shuffle/reshuffle buttons in the queue don’t work.

Again, expected at the moment. When you add a playlist to the queue, the app takes the current sort order into account. If you want to shuffle multiple playlists together, you can move them to a folder and shuffle-play it instead.

Adding one song from a playlist adds the whole playlist.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. It would be best if you could share a short screen recording which captures the app's behavior in action so we could take a direct look at what's happening on your end.

This article goes in-depth on how the play queue works, I'd recommend checking it out as well.

Cheers 🤘

Sadly none of what you have said is happening or is any use whatsoever. Today I opened the app on my iPad and pressed Play on a playlist and it played the one I was listening to yesterday. There was no Clear Queue button showing. In my previous pre April 2026 (when Spotify forced me to upgrade) version there would have been. Previously there were no problems with the Queue whatsoever. None of these behaviours I have listed ever occurred previously. It is now broken. Also I can currently create a folder but the app won’t allow me to put anything in it.

Thanks for the reply, @h4040.

In order to take a proper look at what's happening with the queue on your end, would you mind sharing a short screen recording which captures the app's behavior in action? In case you're having issues with attaching the file in your reply here, you can instead upload it to Google Drive (just make sure it's available to anyone with the link) or to YouTube as an unlisted video

About not being able to move playlists into folders: could you confirm you're following the steps from this article? If you are, it's possible that the version of the app you're using isn't the latest available one. I'd recommend updating it + logging out and signing back in a couple of times in a row to see if that makes a difference. You can also consider performing a clean reinstall to ensure there isn't any leftover cache that might potentially be causing issues.

Let us know how it goes.
