Computer won't show up in Connect in app

Solved!

Computer won't show up in Connect in app

I have Spotify premium and I am logged into my account both on my computer and my phone. The computer recognizes the device in the desktop app as it shows up under devices and allows me to select what to sync. However, the Connect window in my app only lists my iPhone, it doesn't show my computer which I would like so I could control the desktop app with my phone.

Thank you.

You can now control Spotify on your computer from your phone:

If you want more control, connect is fully integrated into the new beta desktop app. From the beta desktop app you can control what's playing on your phone from your computer. This control of both ways will be coming to the desktop app late this year or early 2015.

Hello And welcome 🙂
Are You Sure that you have on Both devices The newest version? Have you tryed a reinstallation ? Does this Problem also appear when your using your Webbrowser or is this Problem happening only when you are using your Desktop app? Have you tryed disabling your Firewall?

Kind regards,

What is a Spotify Rock Star and how do i become one?

Yes they are both updated fully. I will try reinstalling. This appears on the desktop app, I never use the web version of Spotify. Disable, like port forwarding?

The desktop app currently does not have the connect feature. It will be coming in a future update later this year or early 2015.

The new beta desktop app has connect and you can download it and test it out here:

So then what is the point of Connect? I want to use Connect on my phone to control the desktop app, is that not what Connect on the phone does?

At this moment it is only possible to control Speakers, Tablets, Smartphones and some other type of devices.
