My Question or Issue

Dislike button missing in a lot of playlists in Spotify. Is this a bug? A feature?

This problem is making me crazy, before (like last year) I could like/dislike any song from the majority of playlists Spotify offered me (radios, daily mixes, etc) now it is impossible to dislike...So how is Spotify going to know if I like a song or not?

Only My Release Radar and Discover Weekly keep for now the like/dislike button...

I think this is an important functionality to have in the app. We as users want to configure the platform as we want, so that the offered music as good as possible. If now Spotify is going to begin to have fixed playlists (radio, daily mixes, etc), instead of letting the user change them liking/disliking songs...don't know if I can stay paying...even when I have all my music library in Spotify, and will be difficult to go to other platforms...

Please, please! Return the dislike button to your playlists!

Hey there folks,

Thank you for your posts and feedback - We appreciate it!

We're constantly aiming to improve our features so we hope you’ll continue using it and find it gets better in the future.

Keep in mind that if you'd like to see the Like/Dislike icons return in the Now Playing view for Premium users, you can also have a look in the Idea Exchange, to see if someone else has already made a similar suggestion, and if not post your own.

The Idea Exchange is a great way for us to see what our users are interested in and how many people like a certain idea. You can read more about it here.

If you have any other questions we're always one reply away.

Cheers!

Hey there folks,

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the Community!

The Hide Song button  should be visible in the Now playing view in the following playlists: Daily Mixes, Release Radar and Discover weekly, as well as on the Autoplay songs.

The idea behind this is to be able dislike songs from those lists with recommendations, which helps the algorithm to give you songs you might like better in the future.

Don't forget that you can also block artists if you don't want to hear songs from them, by going to their Artist profile and selecting the Don't play this option from the 3-dot menu. Note: You might still hear songs from blocked artists if they are featured in the track of another artist.

Let us know if you have more questions 🙂

Wow. I pretty much agree with this! I don't see why else they would remove the dislike button. smh

Can we use this forum to suggest other services that have a good selection of music and will not force the same annoying song on you multiple times a day? I switched from Apple Music cause it didn’t allow you to play music through chrome cast, but I will still switch back if there are no alternatives. Suggestions? Let’s advertise for other companies here!

Don’t know… ive just gone back to using Youtube

Right there with you... I converted to Youtube music and shortly thereafter unsubscribed.

Spotify is GREAT so far I like it a lot better.  But lacking this basic functionality does make me want to go elsewhere.

Spotify became like Facebook nowadays by favoring their incompetent algorithms over their users preference as they started showing us songs that they think we will like without us have any say or option to customize our experience on Spotify and that is why I still use Pandora.

Correct me if I am wrong but why would we need to add this as an idea when it already was implemented some time ago and removed by you.

The idea is not new. Just bring it back as it was. Doh!

We shouldn't have to make an idea suggestion post, You and the rest of the spotify staff are useless, Until about three months ago we HAD a dislike button Y'all took it away because your service is worthless and you do not care about your users You have repeatedly made that clear to us Spotify Does NOT care about it's userbase and does not deserve our money Thank you for forcing me to go back to MP3s thanks to your useless service

Spotify doesn't even have the common decency to care about it's users money It's Genuinely remarkable y'all are still in business if this is how you think this is acceptable way to operate a subscription based business

as many others have stated. We are not requesting this as a new idea.  It was an implemented feature for some time that you took away from us.     Did you ask your user base for a vote before taking it away?   If not - then why not?

It is not good customer service to request your user base to go to another thread to get back a feature you removed.  Spotify should look at all the complaints here and do something about it.

Hey there folks,

Thank you for your posts. We appreciate you continuing to share your feedback in this thread.

We recommend that you take a look at this article about how your feedback reaches Spotify.

The best way to provide your feedback for new features such as this one is the Idea Exchange and there's already a relevant idea for what you're suggesting here. We would appreciate if you can leave you feedback in there.

Yet another worthless reply from Spotify's uncaring useless staff

Honestly Peter why do you bother if you're not actually going to help us, Just shut up dude

Like genuinely Peter, You don't care about your users, that's fine That's cool, But just outright say "sorry everybody but we here at Spotify just don't value our users or our users money" be honest about it and stop lying to us all saying our opinion matters If it actually did Changes would have already been made This isn't a new idea people have been asking for what are Very basic, Standardizes features that are seen literally everywhere else in the industry to which you belong, Just be open that you don't care about your userbase Or it's money Or care about providing your users with a good experience Thanks for proving to me you don't deserve my money or my family's money

We're sorry that you feel this way @GreyToTheGrave.

At Spotify, we're often testing things by adding or removing features to make the app better overall.

We really want to help you and provide you with the best support we can - which is why we suggest to leave your feedback in our Idea Exchange.

Rest assured that all your info will be passed on to the relevant teams and that our developers will continue to work on improving the app based on the feedback we receive from you and other users.

Stay safe and have a great day ahead!

Once again you aren’t listening. Check the Ideas Exchange board yourself.
Requests to bring back this feature have been posted as of 12 hours ago. We
have done this. Over and over again. If you’re going to reply with the same
standard response that suggests we post on the Ideas Exchange board then
don’t bother.

Why do I keep beating my head on a brick wall?? Because it feels so good
when I stop.

Don't say you're sorry if you don't mean it @Xenia, You're replying with the exact same useless response, By now you people should realize we want our dislike button, It's been posted to the ideas exchange at least 20 times by my count as recently as 12 hours ago, You are not listenijg to us and do not care about your users Do Not claim to care about us Stop lying and saying you do None of you care about your users in any way shape or form, Thank you for proving that Spotify hates it's users time and time again

  • Are you Spotify stuff just use copy and paste to reply to our feedbacks, your copy and paste replies show absolutely zero care in what we Spotify users said and I find that very infuriating and I said it before and I will say it again.. Spotify doesn't really care about their users anymore so stop asking us to post ideas for feature that you know for sure that we need and we said that like a million time and as if any one at Spotify will even care to check users "ideas" and the only thing that I think will happen next is that you will close or delete this post.

Yes. They are. Those types of emails are called standard responses. That’s
what they’re doing. They’re just replying with a template and then they
fill in the blank for the problem. I don’t think they’ll ever listen to us.

Instead of asking your customers to do something, Why do you spotify admins go create a new section called “We are thinking of removing a feature and would love to know what our beloved customers think first”
