I'm so afraid....

I just got a new 64 GB ipod 5th generation, and just got spotify premium'I want to sync my Spotify playlists to my IPod so I can listen offline,is it true that when I sync for the first time Spotify will erase all my Itunes songs that I have on my IMac and my IPod,what if something goes wrong?I'm so so afraid and I won't sleep for ten days if i can't get my music back.Please help.

Do you have an iPod Touch? If you sync your playlists inside of the Spotify app on your iPod Touch, then none of your iTunes songs will be deleted.
